I have no idea but think this kind of show has run its course. I am sure there are other tv shows Ant and Dec could host.

But to answer the OP, no I don't think it was the "right" result. I think these shows are often manipulated by the media outside. It may have been a sympathy vote related to negative press from her husband. Who knows?
She seems a nice girl, but I didn't see anything much more.
