I've no idea. Pic 1 is it in position as found and pic 2 is it on its own. There's no wires or clips to suggest it should be attached!

Is it a tracker? Should I be worried? Is the cat going to explode?

My H ( police officer) says he's seen the 30 day trackers like this in a lot of DV cases.
They connect to an app, cost about £30 off eBay and last for 30 days without changing.
They come in all shapes and sizes.

The two characters under the red dot look like they could be letters. pb or qd depending on how you look at it. Maybe that's a brand?

Erm... how are you getting along with your husband? I agree it looks like tracker. You may want to check on this before discussing things with him.

Oh for god sake its a tracker box OP insurance companies use them to monitor speed and driving its also referred to as a black box. Obviously it was insured with one at some point and it hasn't been removed since. You all need to get a massive grip been so hysterical Jesus

Has a previous owner or yourself ever had a black box policy. A lot of the time the tracking devises aren't removed when the policy is changed

DH and I are fine. No history of DV or red flags (I'm a trainer for the freedom project) and no crazy ex's.

I'll take it to a shop and report back.

It’s what I imagine a tracker to look like although never actually seen one in the flesh, so not much use to you op But I just wanted to say that you should be a bit careful about who you share this with. If it is indeed a tracker it could be your husband/family/close friend. I would take it to your local mechanics first (maybe not the ones that worked on it last time though) then if they don’t know I would pop into your local police station.

It does look like a pest repeller. Did someone have a mice problem in the garage so put this too stop them chewing wires in the car?
