Literally can't think of anything to get DD for Christmas

Gingerninja01 · 06/12/2019 20:41

Just that - absolutely no ideas for Christmas presents for DD (2.5)
So far shes got some new books and a dressing gown!
Would ideally love to get her a playhouse and a desk and chair to draw at etc but we really don't have the room currently with renovations going on forever.
Please can I poach some ideas off others? Thanks!

An experience? My almost 3 year old is getting a bike and twin baby dolls.

Toodler · 06/12/2019 20:48

Could you get her a child's easel? Can be folded down and slipped behind somewhere for the space or an aqua doodle mat.

We've bought our LO a nice one from smyths.

barnet · 06/12/2019 20:51

A balance bike.

HuloBeraal · 06/12/2019 20:51

So he’s getting Happyland. Both my kids (the other one is 7) have played with Happyland for ages.
Books.
For his birthday he’s getting a Toniebox.

Gingerninja01 · 06/12/2019 20:52

Thanks for your suggestions, she already has an easel and an aqua doodle mat, she has a dolly and cot/pushchair too 🙈 what do I get her?!

Dressing up stuff

JellyBellies · 06/12/2019 20:53

An ikea easel?

bridgetreilly · 06/12/2019 20:53

I've forgotten what they're called but those bright drapey strips of fabric that children can use for dress up and making dens and banners and things.

Tegu magnetic blocks - they aren't cheap but they will last forever and are so much fun as they get older, but won't take up too much room.

Scooter
Play kitchen
Pram
Balance bike

Ihatesundays · 06/12/2019 20:54

Pop up tent?

TerribleCustomerCervix · 06/12/2019 20:54

I’ve got dd (just turned 2) a book, a pair of dungarees, a Belle dress up costume and a gruffalo playset.

That’ll do her. At that age they can get bored or overwhelmed opening lots of presents and they don’t have any expectations of Santa etc.

I’ve holding my whist for the years ahead when she’ll be asking for Jojo bows or whatever overpriced tat is in vogue!

Justonemoremojito · 06/12/2019 20:55

Toy kitchen
Toy shop
Nice blanket/cushion set
Nice plate/cup set

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 06/12/2019 20:58

How about a pop-up tent that will fold away again?

WhereDidTheOddSockGo · 06/12/2019 20:59

A big cardboard box, and some colouring pens.

You can cut some holes to make a door and some windows and then let her decorate her new 'house'... Folds flat when not in use too!

converseandjeans · 06/12/2019 21:00

Micro scooter - expensive but worth it
Play doh
Farm animals
A zoo pass or similar
Jigsaws
Stuff she needs like clothes

nameymcnamechangeagain · 06/12/2019 21:00

What about the little people/toot toot princesses and castle?

Scooter?

nameymcnamechangeagain · 06/12/2019 21:01

Ooh yes what about one of those colour your own playhouses from hobbhcraft or similar?

AlwaysCheddar · 06/12/2019 21:01

Lego?

WhereverIMayRoam · 06/12/2019 21:27

cash register and some play food.
Duplo
Bath toys
Dress up clothes, hats, scarves etc
Medical set/Vets kit

To be honest there are loads of great toys to buy for her age, it’s pretty much the easiest age to buy for as everything is new and exciting for such a young child! If the issue is the renovations why not buy some cute toy boxes or organisers too so her presents can be easily stored?

UtuNorantiPralatongsThirdEye · 06/12/2019 21:34

One of those chunky garages and some cars.

Tiredmumno1 · 06/12/2019 21:34

a light up doodle board?

BenevolentEzza · 06/12/2019 21:36

Definitely big cardboard box/es!

Little People are great, my DD loves hers.

A till and shopping basket/play food are great too (make a kitchen with her from the cardboard box)

Chilledout11 · 06/12/2019 21:36

I would recommend duplo. Mine have moved onto Lego (nearly 6) but the duplo is used a few times a week and still loved.
Also dressing up clothes (asda sell great ones)

Tiredmumno1 · 06/12/2019 21:41

One of these for her bed instead of a playhouse for now if you are lacking space for the moment smyths

Sticker books
