Literally can't think of anything to get DD for Christmas

Gingerninja01 · 06/12/2019 20:41

Just that - absolutely no ideas for Christmas presents for DD (2.5)
So far shes got some new books and a dressing gown!
Would ideally love to get her a playhouse and a desk and chair to draw at etc but we really don't have the room currently with renovations going on forever.
Please can I poach some ideas off others? Thanks!

My DDs favourite toys about that age where her
duplo building table with blocks
A dance mat
Her dolls pram
Her beanbag (she’s loved to look at her books lying on it)
Dressing up clothes
Her tent with a tunnel and ball pit attatched.

stoplickingthetelly · 06/12/2019 22:07

Peppa pig or Ben and Holly toys. My dd is 4 and still plays with these regularly.

Amicompletelyinsane · 06/12/2019 22:08

Leapfrog ice cream cart. All my children really love it. I thought it would be something that sat in the corner, oh I was wrong

Isithometimeyet0987 · 06/12/2019 22:09

She’s now four and actually still plays with all the toys I mentioned above.

drspouse · 06/12/2019 22:09

Mini micro scooter, she'll love it.

kitk · 06/12/2019 22:19

Have you got a garden? If so I bet she'd adore a mud kitchen!

Talkallday · 06/12/2019 22:20

We got a kids teepee one year, can be propped up quickly or flattened down to slide under the bed. Just poles and material. Gets used in garden in summer and the house in winter, is also washable. It this an option?

Nice silky material and pegs to make your own forts inside (my kids use old bed sheets for this)?

Other ideas:
Threading toys.
First puzzles.
Cut and play food.
Playdoh.
Craft supplies.
A torch/novelty night light.
Tub of farm animals/ocean creatures.
Novelty slippers.

my daughter at about that age got very into little figures - she is five and still plays with her peppa pig toys. Best purchase ever.

Jinxed2 · 06/12/2019 22:29

My son is 2 and 10 months. He’s getting a kitchen, pots and pans and some wooden food sets (birthday cake and pizza), a doctor’s set...that’s all so far..

LiquoricePickle · 06/12/2019 23:51

My son is two and a half. I've got him a climing frame, which obviously requires space, but I've also got art supplies, books, a new bath toy, more magnatiles...

Not all from me.

Yestermost · 06/12/2019 23:54

At that age the very worst thing to do is to get more than about 4 presents (including everyone else's presents) and maybe 5 tiny stocking things. Always ends in overwhelmed child.

NameChange30 · 06/12/2019 23:59

The renovations must have addled your brain, my DS is a similar age and there are far too many things I want to buy him Grin His main present is a balance bike.

Here are my suggestions
Balance bike (obvs)
Scooter
Doctors set
Duplo
Orchard toys puzzles and games
Chunky colouring pencils and colouring books
Sticker books

Doll's house

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 07/12/2019 00:12

Toy fire engine + figures
Police car.
Melissa & Doug box of small instruments
Balance bike and accessories
Scooter and accessories
Code a pillar
Grimms Rainbow
Hey Duggee merchandise
Marsha and the Bear merchandise

What I’m getting my 2.5 yr old boy:

Books
Bath bombs
More animal/Dino figures
Some Tomy/Ania animal scenes and a Papo cardboard jungle
Some clothes and shoes he will like (Adidas trainers with monsters on and a next Dino tracksuit)
Some sweets and stickers
That’s it :)

Patienceisvirtuous · 07/12/2019 00:21

Ps second the idea of a nice cushion/blanket set - ours is paw patrol and so well used for snuggling!

Thehagonthehill · 07/12/2019 00:29

Balloons. We blew loads up and snucked them into her room with her stocking when we went to bed.
In the morning she screamed,as far as she was concerned it was magic. She closed her eyes no balloons, opened her eyes and lots of balloons.
Any other presents that year stood no chance. We did start bursting them by day 3 as there is only so much 'keepy-uppy' you can play !
She is 16 and there will still be an packet of balloons in her stocking.

Fifthtimelucky · 07/12/2019 07:45

We got our daughter a Brio train set for Christmas was when she was 2.5. Actually it wasn't Brio, it was Early Learning Centre, but Brio compatible.

It was brilliant. She absolutely loved it and every birthday/Christmas for the next few years we bought extra bits for it.

Even as an adult she would sometimes get it out to play with!

Thurmanmurman · 07/12/2019 07:52

Wooden train set from Ikea. I got one for my DD around that age and she loved it. Her and DS played with it for years. Easy to store too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/12/2019 07:52
