Don’t want to then this into a debate. DC’s school are doing them early next week. Seems a bit late to be doing them but anyway. A lot of their peers are not having it which is of course the parents choice.

I am hearing conflicting things. Do your children have it or not? I don’t have much time now to do thorough research on it.

I have opted in at the moment but unsure..

There hasn’t been a single proper safety study done on ANY vaccine in the current schedule

There has been lots of research done into the safety of vaccines. They all conclude that vaccines are overwhelmingly safe and the benefits of them far outweigh any side effects. These side effects are all stated on the information leaflet that comes with the vaccine and range from common such as tenderness at the site of the vaccine right the way up to very rare such as allergic reaction.

Yes.

My DDs school are late doing them as they didn't have enough vaccines.

I always get it done for two reasons.

1: flu is nasty

2: my dad has a lot of health issues and if we can all get vaccinated that helps reduce the risk to him.

Yes, DS has a compromised immune system and is also recovering from an eating disorder and is very underweight. If he got flu it would be devastating. He had the spray and it was fine.

I get it because I also have a compromised immune system. I got the jab and, apart from a tiny bit of stiffness, it was fine too.

I don't know nt understood the logic of people saying that they don't get vaccinated because they've never had flu. I've never been hit in the face with a shovel but if I thought it was even a possibility, I'd be doing everything available to prevent it happening.

I also don't understand those who don't have it because they think it doesn't work - what would you lose by having it anyway?

The flu vaccination season runs until 31st March not 31st Jan.

My daughter (6) has had her vaccination delayed until January as there is a shortage of vaccine in this area, it was supposed to be done 2 weeks ago. My son (almost 3) had his at the start of November and never turned a hair.

The vaccine is offered for a reason, take it.

Figgygal · 07/12/2019 14:02

My yr 3 ds had it at end of November without a sniff of side effect can't get Ds2 infor his until 6th Jan so just crossing fingers until then he doesn't get anything

SpringFan · 07/12/2019 15:05

Whoops sorry- yes it is 31st March ( But try to buy any from the companies or wholesalers after 31st Jan...)

If many children have the vaccine they should stay away from other immune suppressed children for 2 weeks. How do you know who they are in school. My child's never had the vaccine but never had the flu either. Had lots of colds though and never catches anything these days even when all his peers are. At work we had a Flu Jab push. I never take medicine I don't need so I didn't have one. I've never had the flu either. However many of my colleagues who had the vaccine got the flu to some degree and felt crap for as long as 2 weeks. I got a sniffle but nothing more. You have to do what you think is right based on the knowledge you have and the research 'you have done for yourself'. Flu vaccines don't cover all flu viruses and are not guaranteed but 'may' lesson the symptoms. www.webmd.com/vaccines/how-effective-is-flu-vaccine#1

No never had it, my kids have never had it. No one in my family has had it either. Family member having chemo now so no one who’s had the spray can be around them as it’s live.
