To think people can defrost their cars without running their engine all morning?

I start work in a couple of hours. I have been awake since 5am, due to a steady flow of neighbours who have sat in their car with their engine running, one actually revving their engine constantly, waiting for their car to defrost. The first at 5am, each for a good 15 minutes each. It's been the same every day this week.

Don't people scrape their cars anymore? Is it wrong for me to be annoyed and think that they are being inconsiderate?

(Apologies to those with DC who are dragged up with them at this time!)

@MinisterforCheekyFuckery.

Totally with you! Can’t believe that somebody tucked up nice and warm in bed is grumbling about the poor sods amongst us who have to leave home at stupid o’clock to get to work. I’m a theatre nurse, so I guess we could always delay people’s surgery so that we don’t disturb our neighbours when we’re leaving home.

I start my car engine to clear the ice and, as I live in a private house with a very long drive if anybody - child or adult walked past my car they’d be trespassing. Plus there are sod all people around where I live at 5am.

I would love to be laid in bed listening to neighbours preparing their cars for work, but given I now have to carry on working until I’m either 80 or drop dead at work, I can’t find any sympathy for people, usually much younger than me, who are still in bed!
