TRESemmé bottles

Is it just me, or are TRESemmé bottles torture to squeeze anything out of!? Seriously, they are hell to get anything out of. Heavy, slippery, no grip and need to have the strength of the hulk to squeeze them! Then they go out of shape and you can't get them back into shape which makes squeezing them all the more difficult at the next hair wash.

Is it just me!? Please tell me it's not just me.

I'm mean it says "used by professionals" on the label.

Professional what?

BODYBUILDERS!?
GIANTS?!

It’s not just you! I’ve given up on them now after nearly breaking my toe 50,675 times

Saucery · 02/12/2019 17:24

It’s not just you, I sometimes use DH’s Tresemme when I need to strip product build-up out of my hair and the number of times it’s slipped out of my hand and dropped on my toe - owwww!

Ijustwanttoretire · 02/12/2019 17:24

YANBU - my son uses it and occasionally I nick some - I have to wait until he's used half though so I can lift it Grin it's a bleeding nightmare...

Rosepetals30 · 02/12/2019 17:24

No professional uses that shit. Honestly. Maybe like decades ago. Certainly not now

TheSilveryPussycat · 02/12/2019 17:25

Same here. They seem like a good deal, but it's impossible to use more than half.

Dragonglass · 02/12/2019 17:27

I keep mine upside down. They only need a little squeeze then.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 02/12/2019 17:27

I never have this problem. I buy the big 900ml bottles and have tiny hands (only 4ft 11) but I find the bottles easy enough to use. Are you sure you're opening them all the way as they can be a bugger to use if the cap isn't open properly

GruciusMalfoy · 02/12/2019 17:35

Yanbu, I find them so difficult to use when they're near full.

TokyoSushi · 02/12/2019 17:37

Yep, I hate them!

BeagleMomma · 02/12/2019 17:40

I squeeze them into big empty pump bottles (like hand wash comes in but bigger)

Then they're not wet or slippy during the shower.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 17:45

@BeagleMomma now that's just showing off how clever you are! Grin

BeagleMomma · 02/12/2019 17:50

@TwatCat It comes from PTSD of dropping them on my toes as a child Grin

MillicentMartha · 02/12/2019 17:54

Professional, affordable. Always made made me think of cheap prostitutes. Blush

LetsBeSensible · 02/12/2019 18:01

@BeagleMomma snap I do this too!
So much easier for shower gel/shampoo/conditioner
Saves ££££s I buy the big bottles when they are on offer and decant them every few weeks

DamsonOnThisDress · 02/12/2019 18:06

I am entirely with you. I refused to buy Jumbo Tresemme much to my teenage daughter's chagrin but never has a toiletry made me use so many bad words.

Kept them upside down but the damned things kept toppling in to the bath at me.

Stupid oversized things. Felt like a child squeezing it with both hands. And a dick balanced on one foot trying to catch a blob on my knee. So so many bad words.

wildcherries · 02/12/2019 18:09

YANBU! I thought it was just me ... I stopped using it for that reason tbh.

Clutterbugsmum · 02/12/2019 18:23

Like BeagleMomma, I decant into a hand soap dispenser to make it easier for dd to use.

Lunafortheloveogod · 02/12/2019 18:26

If you can get the lids off then you just need pumps.

I do the same as @BeagleMomma, I have nice colour scheme matching bottles n pour stuff into them. It stems from the pain of them landing on my toe too.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 18:31

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I actually like the shampoo, lots of others make my scalp itch but TRESemmé seems to do the job without aggravating my sensitive skin. But I've had huge bruises on my feet from the bottles. I've tried storing them upside down and made a mess on more than one occasion when I haven't clipped the top down properly. You'd think they'd realise how badly designed they are. I've never had this problem with any other shampoo or conditioner.

Obviouspretzel · 02/12/2019 18:32

It's rubbish anyway in my opinion. No professional I know uses it.

Obviouspretzel · 02/12/2019 18:33

The professional brands usually have a hand pump as well, which negates this problem.

OlaEliza · 02/12/2019 18:56

Use bar shampoo! Much more environmentally friendly and won't hurt if you drop it.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 22:41

@OlaEliza I've tried different bar shampoos with with no success. I used baking soda and apple cider vinegar for a while which was good until I started having a reaction to it. I'm running out of things I can use.

I can no longer use ANY deodorant other than bionsen. Even a home made deodorant of coconut oil base made me really sore.

At the moment, the only shampoo I can use that doesn't make me itch so much I bleed is TRESemmé.

Ohyesiam · 02/12/2019 22:43

I recant the big bottles. Doesn’t stop my daughter calling it Theresa May shampoo!
