To think it’s impossible to vote for Boris Johnson after this morning’s interview?

How anyone watching this interview can conclude that Johnson has the seriousness, dignity, judgment or sensitivity to be Prime Minister is beyond me.

Blaming Labour's laws on early release for the London Bridge attack, when the Tories have been in power for 10 years, during which the UK has faced about 10 terror attacks and the Tories chose not to change the laws.

“It’s all Labour’s fault” says man whose party slashed police numbers, devastated the prison and probation service through cuts, and said there was no money for deradicalising terrorists.

Boris Johnson steam rollering Andrew Marr with endless election slogans shows exactly why he wanted this format and not Andrew Neill 🙄

really depressing stuff

I cannot understand the thinking of calling corbyn a terrorist sympathizer when the conservative government allows the selling of arms to Saudi Arabia - the Saudi Arabia that funds and supplies weapons to terrorist groups. Terrorist groups that carry out attacks on our soil. Yet somehow a man having a conversation is the end of the world. The mental gymnastics involved are mind boggling.

CendrillonSings · 01/12/2019 11:36

I cannot understand the thinking of calling corbyn a terrorist sympathizer

He is on record calling them his friends and even inviting them to Parliament. Even in his most recent interview he was saying that convicted terrorists shouldn’t serve their full sentences! Not exactly the acts of a non-sympathizer, are they?

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 01/12/2019 11:37

spinderella I don’t know how I missed your post but I’m glad that our rages align. I mean, ffs.

“Jeremy Corbyn - was involved in peace talks and liked a mural” - disgusting, abhorrent man, will cause the end of the world, unfit to be prime minister.

“Conservative government - Literally funds a terrorist regime” totally fit to lead the country

There was an interesting discussion on Nancy Astor by some female MPs on GMB this week. The panel included Margaret Beckett, Baroness Warsi and Tulip Siddiq. They acknowledged Astor's contribution to having women in parliament.

Nonnymum · 01/12/2019 11:40

The BBC should not have allowed him t on be interviewed by Marr as he won't be interviewed by Neil. Marr gives politicians an easy ride and allows them to trot out their lines to take. Neil is much tougher. if Johnson is scared to face him how can he think he is suitable to be PM?

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 11:40

But which one affects our national security? Would I trust Corbyn with the highest levels of secret information? Would the Americans clear him into the '5 eyes' community with his previous allegiances?
These are very real security concerns.

I think you've missed quite a lot of posts, in fact.

Who are you attributing the blank stare and Boris-support to?

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 11:43

This could have SERIOUS ramifications for us. But no one seems to care about security of defence in this election for some reason. It's seen as a luxury spend... until it isnt a luxury and then it's too late

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 01/12/2019 11:43

Cendrillion - and the rest of my post? Because if I had to choose between a man who talks to terrorists and one who funds them, I’m going with the talker all the way.

And the terrorists’ sentences - which government was in power when Usman Khan, piece of shit that he is, was both jailed and released?

(Not that I presume you’ll answer either of those points Cendrillion, you rarely do, and you actually can’t here without admitting that funding a terrorist regime is fiiiine but conversations are baaaad. Smile )

Random18 · 01/12/2019 11:45

If someone has already decided to vote for BJ then I don't think they will change their mind.

It is all out there - we all know what type if man he is .

There is literally nothing he can do that will make them change their mind.

They think he will deliver their precious Brexit and are prepared to ignore everything else to achieve that..............

And the Right Wing press have been especially effective against Jeremy Corbyn.

I am no fan of his and I think he is complete and utter shit, but I don't feel as if he will destroy the country........

YouTheCat · 01/12/2019 11:45

National Security? So why is it okay that Boris brought in Dominic Cummings as an adviser when he has strong links to Russia?

Hingeandbracket · 01/12/2019 11:46

He is on record calling them his friends and even inviting them to Parliament.
Many of the exact same people Maggie was talking to in secret whilst publicly proclaiming "we don't talk to terrorists" and banning free speech on TV.
Who is the more honest?

Snowy111 · 01/12/2019 11:46

I think that both men would be dangerous with a majority government but only Boris is likely to get one, so I’ll be voting Corbyn.

peridito · 01/12/2019 11:47

Anyone else think that Andrew Marr did a good job in trying to hold Johnson to account ,trying to stop him chuntering ,quoting facts and figures at him ?

I thought he did well ,Johnson showed himself up for the buffoon he is .

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 11:50

@youthecat
The fact the 5eyes community trust Boris and he will have been cleared speaks volumes. Conversely, they are saying they will kick the UK out of this security sharing circle is, which is HUGE.
It would mean were losing a significant amount of intelligence by not being given this access.
Why are countries saying this about Corbyn? Why dont they trust him? That's what concerns me.

tttigress · 01/12/2019 11:52

I recon you would have made this post about Boris whatever he said in this morning's interview

YouTheCat · 01/12/2019 11:52

Well, I'm more concerned with the NHS being sold off piece by piece and those people who tell us we can't get appointments because of immigrants clogging up the system, which is utter bilge.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 01/12/2019 11:52

Christa the blank stare and the Boris-support is attributed to those Boris supporters who believe Jeremy Corbyn is a threat yet refuse to see how the conservative government is also a risk.

Just so we’re clear, is this ok?

Sunnyjac · 01/12/2019 12:01

It was never possible to vote for Johnson or the tories in the first place

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 12:06

@youthecat the only reason we have an NHS and hospitals and the ability to do to them is because we have peace and stability.
In an increasingly debatable world how can people not care we would lose access to a significant source of intelligence and the implications this would have?
People coming into our country with sinister intentions that we now dont know about.
The amount of SIGINT we would lose access to is horrifying

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 12:07

Debatable world = unstable world!

TheYear · 01/12/2019 12:07

It would have been good had he been allowed to finish a single sentence.

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 12:11

utterly I've never agreed with the Saudi arms sales.

I also dont want to lose access to a vast amount of security agencies knowledge (CIA, NSA, FBI) because they dont trust Corbyn and how vulnerable that would make the UK .

How would that impact on our NATO place? Our airspace then becomes more vulnerable too as well as knowing whats coming into our waters (Russian submarines- Google how often they come)

I don't think people realise how much we rely on this community and how vulnerable we are without it

Random18 · 01/12/2019 12:15

I have serious concerns about BJs links to Russia.

I think Russia is the biggest threat to this country at the moment.

That and America (well Trump to be precise)

MissChananderlerbong · 01/12/2019 12:22

@random18 I have serious concerns about russia too! That's why we cant lose our access to this 5 eyes community. Or as a result lose our place in NATO

Russia come into our airspace a fair amount as it is. Imagine if we dont have NATO air policing to help. The ramifications of them not trusting Corbyn would be huge for our defence and leave a lot of holes and vulnerabilities
