Blue cars everywhere.
I actually really like it, such a change from black n white

They are EVERY where here all of a sudden.

My friends and I were crooning over a few parked outside school this morning... So pretty.

Anybody else?

I had the most perfect midnight blue car. Unfortunately it was a company car and had to go back. OH got the most awful grey colour after that, horrid.

BikeRunSki · 28/11/2019 18:34

I have a grey car. I only have a grey car because all the other colours cost more.

HalyardHitch · 28/11/2019 18:35

I have a gold car. I bloody love it. Apparently on school run several of the kids point it out

MonstranceClock · 28/11/2019 18:38

I’m a bit weird and assign colours to cars Grin
Red is a cheap colour and should only be on cheap cars. Red Audi’s look wrong, they should be black, white or gun metal grey. Bmw’s Should be blue. Mercedes Black or white.

SquareAsABlock · 28/11/2019 18:40

Ah, yellow car Grin. Yellow minis are double points!

ShatnersWig · 28/11/2019 18:41

I have a purple car

Wakingupnow · 28/11/2019 18:45

I have a blue car. It may or may not have been chosen as it is also my favourite football team colours. they are rubbish

Pericombobulations · 28/11/2019 18:53

I had blue cars in the 90's and early 00's, then had a silver one until I bought my current blue car 10 years ago. It still makes me smile when I see it in the car park surrounded by silver and black cars. I love it and intend to buy a blue one to replace this when it eventually goes.

RaininSummer · 28/11/2019 19:00

I hate boring car colours. So many white, grey, black and silver. I have just got a car which is bright green and I love it.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 28/11/2019 19:02

My little Mr Man car is bright blue. My respectable big car is silver.

suchagoofball · 28/11/2019 19:05

How does it work?
Do they discount the blue ones to get a trend going?

I have a blue car and it was actually more expensive than the red or white cars but I just love the colour so much and, as I was hoping it would last a good long time, I knew I wanted one that I would be happy to see every day. Plus white would have meant more washing! The salesman did actually say after I went for blue that he was glad I didn't pick white as lots of people end up regretting getting white cars.

bananahood · 28/11/2019 19:07

Could you be in the Truman Show OP?

AgeLikeWine · 28/11/2019 19:10

BMW started it a few years ago when they introduced a bright metallic blue called ‘Estoril blue’ on their M Sport models.

Guess what colour my lovely BMW M240i is? Smile.

marmiteloversunite · 28/11/2019 19:13

I have a beautiful bright blue car and my DD has a mint green Fiat. So much easier to find in the car park!

BertieBotts · 28/11/2019 19:15

We almost bought a brand new car end of last year and would have gone for blue. It wasn't cheaper but it was a special deal so it was the same price as black and I definitely wanted a bright colour over black.

When we bought the car we have now I wanted a nice colour but it only came in various shades of black or white :( I chose "cosmic black" which has tiny purple glitter in it when you get close up but don't notice it most of the time.

DH says he doesn't care about the colour so just lets me pick, unless it's loads more expensive anyway, then it doesn't make sense.

ArthurShelbysTash · 28/11/2019 19:16

Our last car was black. We had 3 non fault accidents and the 3rd wrote it off. These were in the space of 4 months.

We have replaced it with a big blue car. They'll bloody well see us coming in this bugger. Wish me luck...

BarbaraofSeville · 28/11/2019 19:17

If you buy a car and pay for it in full, you need to pay extra for all except non metallic standard colours such as red, white or navy blue, or perhaps grey (not silver) but if you lease a car, they usually give you free metallic paint presumably because it increases the resale value, so is more profitable to the lease company.

I've often wondered what they'd do if you wanted to lease a car in an unattractive or unusual colour like beige or pink, which would presumably be harder for them to sell on and probably get a lower price.

Longdistance · 28/11/2019 19:20

My dhs new RAV4 is blue. He had a red CX-5 previously and didn’t want boring white like me. I did help him choose though.

IreneWinters · 28/11/2019 19:26

My last car was a beautiful turquoise. I could always find it in a car park. Now I have a boring blue and white one. Takes me ages to find the damn thing sometimes in a car park full of other blue cars. I feel very unoriginal. Wish I’d gone for red. Yellow wasn’t an option, or I would definitely have chosen that.

I hate grey and silver cars because they are so hard to see on a grey day. They blend in, and at 60 mph, blending in isn’t a good thing.

Glittertwins · 28/11/2019 19:33

Didn't realise how popular the "yellow car" game is!! We have one black and one white. White replaced the blue

BikeRunSki · 28/11/2019 19:59

When I no longer have a work car, or the constraints on what colour, engine size, model etc, I can have, I’m going to have an orange car. But for now, “free” grey.

Shannith · 28/11/2019 20:01

Also always playing yellow car. In my own. When not in a car.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/11/2019 20:04

No colours round our way, I often say to DH when we're driving to work - there's black, white, silver , grey .
No colours .

I liked the mid 90s when the dark plum, dark blue and dark green were popular .

I had a bright blue (no it wasn't purple) Corsa . The colour didn't suit the bigger cars like the Frontera .
Red only suits hatchbacks or some sportscars IMO.

Yellow is not even on my radar !

GreenTulips · 28/11/2019 20:05

I’ve always had blue cars. They do stand out amongst the silver/white care which are Yawn! Kids can see me coming.

Disappointed it’s back in fashion. I’m going for orange next time or lime green

willdoitinaminute · 28/11/2019 20:19

Blue is the new grey. My DH was convinced that I wanted grey earlier this year when we were looking for a new car. I hate grey, everything is grey at the moment. It just looks like undercoat, however it doesn’t show the dirt which unfortunately blue does.
DH fell in love with blue car in the showroom so I let him talk me into blue, he was so chuffed he’d “changed my mind”. I wanted blue from the start, but we have to play the game!
