AIBU to eat smushed banana on toast?

My partner is looking at me like the worlds just ended!

I’m merrily sat reading Mumsnet with my hot buttered toast with offending mushed banana on top. Apparently it’s disgusting and it’s not a thing?

Can I ask the vipers if it is indeed a delicacy and what others I may be missing out on?

I've recently discovered how lovely toasted seeded bagels, cream cheese and sliced banana are!

Reporting back that DS and I thoroughly enjoyed our banana sandwiches this morning 🍌😊

I just had bacon, syrup and fried banana on pancakes for breakfast.

Cheesy banana on toast. Yum. Layer of mashed banana topped with slices of cheese and grilled.

OP if you put runny honey on the toast underneath the banana you'll have reached nirvana.

Don't forget the peanut butter underneath the bananas...

If I'm feeling really decadent then it's:

• Nice white bread, toasted
• Smothered in sea salt butter
• then smushed banana
• topped with a good sprinkle of sugar

The salt/sugar combo really sets it off.

Banana and jam on toast is my go to delicious and (slightly) nutritious before bed snack! Crack on, OP (though I know what you mean about the funny looks).

Sorry, I am with your husband. I remember having this as a child, at a friends house. Somehow that combination makes me feel really horrid, all bloated and sickly. Tried it 20 years later and had the same effect.

I love the reporting back of banana on toast this morning 😂 I tried a slice of white, peanut butter, jam and banana this morning. He wouldn’t eat breakfast with me, but it was soooo worth it 🤤 i’m currebtky waddling around!

He’s not from another culture, he was brought up dirt poor, but I’m not even sure it’s not a poor persons snack!

OP, you have inspired me to have banana and jam on toast for my lunch. DH is fortunately unfazed 😄

Hot toast, lay of peanut butter, mashed banana, and then some honey if you want to push the boat out.
Leave your teabags in for a decent 3 mins so you've proper stewed tea to drink with it.
