AIBU to eat smushed banana on toast?

My partner is looking at me like the worlds just ended!

I’m merrily sat reading Mumsnet with my hot buttered toast with offending mushed banana on top. Apparently it’s disgusting and it’s not a thing?

Can I ask the vipers if it is indeed a delicacy and what others I may be missing out on?

Oh yes! Even better with some crunchy peanut butter underneath.

Thick wholemeal toast, mashed banana, a sprinkle of brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. Perfection.

It's definitely a thing! I grew up with smashed banana on toast and banana sandwiches. Now I'm all grown up I'm more likely to slice it on to thick granary, toasted and buttered.
Or have a sandwich, again on granary, one side with butter AND peanut butter, the other with Nutella... sometimes I butter that side first too...

Brown bread and banana sandwiches, my grandmother made them for me in the 80's they have been around for a while.

I mash bananas up on toast but I call it banana butter to posh it up a bit.

If you really want to annoy him (and eat something delicious), smush up the banana with cream cheese.

That's tomorrow's breakfast sorted then.

I love mushed up banana on toast. Or in a nice soft white roll with plenty of butter.

Mashed or sliced banana on hot buttered toast is an excellent light meal though, your partner is more unreasonable not recognising that

Definitely a thing! Although i do prefer to slice my banana and have it on a toasted and heavily buttered cinnamon and raisin bagel.

As à child banana and brown sugar sandwiches with butter were awesome.

Banana in toast is very normal, it's like announcing you didn't know people ate cheese and pickle, or sausage and mash. Is he from another culture maybe?

I'm eating a toasted banana sandwich.....that or cereal are my default breakfast options.
