That Jo Swinson seems to be unpopular in general with most voters?

Even most committed lib dems seem to agree she had a car crash on question time last night. I am a remainer but like most think it would have to be resolved by a second vote (I know the lib dems say they would reovoke if Swinson was PM and second vote otherwise).

Tbh I don't think the lib dems can move on until they have a leader who wasn't involved in the coalition.

And what is with all this attaching #girlyswot to most of her social media posts? It just looks idiotic and contrived and a product of a social media party focus group.

Mad leaflets saying "Your next PM Jo Swinson".........

She's like a shrieky 6th former and I won't vote for her.

The comments on this thread.. so much internalised (and outright misogyny). Its really saddening.

You won't vote for someone because of how they sound? FFS, like that's important in context of brexit, NHS, school funding etc etc.
And as for her voting record. Please see Dippyavocado's comments above re voting with the whip.

I have actually met Jo and she is really nice in person, lots of common sense and comes across very well. God forbid a woman, especially a young woman and a mother should try be ambitious.

I was going to reluctantly vote LD as I feel this is a single issue election and I am opposed to Brexit.

However, Jo's recent homophobic, misogynistic utterings have pushed me into reluctantly voting Labour whose manifesto did give some hope that they might not throw women under the bus. Not holding my breath though or voting with anything other than a feeling of trying to sift out the least worst option.

GrumpyHoonMain · 24/11/2019 18:15

It’s the shit she’s saying. She has basically said the LD will be working with the Conservatives over Labour and her inner Tory is showing more and more. I don’t trust her and never will.

Apart from being incredibly annoying and basically a Tory, her party have messed up royally with Revoke stance! I thought maybe they might do quite well with Second Ref policy but they decided to change to revoke and that's going to be their downfall (along with not ending austerity wtaf) because it just comes across as undemocratic and when pushed on it she just says 'oh sorry but I think Remain is right so I'm just going to do that inregardless of the fact Leave won' 😬.

As for her being a woman and misogyny.. there are plenty of powerful and intelligent women MPs now.. Caroline Lucas, Laura Pidcock, Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Rayner to name just a few so I'd love a female PM to show the men how it's done but Swinson? Baroness of Wokedom? I don't think so.

I would vote for Jo Swindon only if I were to choose between her and a Tory or Labour candidate. In my area it's between Tory and SNP and I am a Remainer who support Scotland's independence, so it's not a difficult choice for me this time.

I don't care how nice you think she is. There's nothing more mysogynistic than selling the sex-based rights of women for a few woke votes.
