Came in to find 13 month old DS with baby oil lid off

It’s a child proof lid, but somehow he’d managed to get the lid off and had it in his mouth. Some of it was on the carpet. We’d only been out of the room a minute or two and he’d got it down from the shelf. I keep forgetting how tall he’s getting already.
I just did a quick google and there are stories about babies dying from this?! I just spoke to my DP and he says I’m overreacting.
He’s not been sick or anything, he’s fine in himself. I don’t even know if he swallowed any.

He’s been fine in the night, coughed a couple of times, but he has been snotty for a few days anyway. No throwing up and no heavy breathing that I noticed. So now that we’re 23 hours after the incident, is it ok to relax a bit now?

Yes I should think so personally if you didn't even get a runny butt its unlikely they ingested any of it

Hi there! try not to panic too much .Im sure he will be fine .My DD ate some Aerial once ! Frantic ,called 111 they just said to observe her no probs (Is in her 20s now!)

I’ve never had an incident with ingesting stuff he shouldn’t, but I remember when he was younger I was so sleep deprived that I left the stair gate open and didn’t realise. I popped into one of the Roos and came back out and saw him just sitting at the top of the stairs looking down!
I check it obsessively now and I’m sure you’ll do the same

You're fine :) dd managed to find a mini shampoo bottle the other day and I turned round and was drinking it! I had a panic as like you I couldn't remember how much was in there to begin with! She's fine now and I stopped worrying the following day x
