Christmas- box fillers???

whattodo2019 · 22/11/2019 20:33

I'm thinking of buying my nieces and god daughters one of these boxes each for Christmas with their name on.
What can I fill them with? The boxes cost £22 each and ideally I don't want to spend more than £3 on the fillers.
The girls are aged 10-13
The 13 is vegan and coeliac

Please inspire me!!!

What is the box supposed to be and for what purpose?

BrieAndChilli · 22/11/2019 20:39

Sherbet flying saucers

Bath bomb each?

Satsumas

Mini cans of fizzy drinks

Little post it notes, rubbers, etc

Hair schrunchies

Candy canes

Face masks

Dishwashersaurous · 22/11/2019 20:39

Why on earth spend £22 on a box!!!

Sorry but it will not be appreciated

There’s lots of things you could get for £25 that would be really appropriate and appreciated but not an empty box. They aren’t going to realise how expensive the box is and are only going to look at the contents

whattodo2019 · 22/11/2019 20:44

Dishwashersaurus I know my nieces will absolutely love these boxes so I'm not worried about my choice of gift.

Loving the flying saucer etc ideas. Will get shopping tomorrow!

Struggling to understand how a box can be worth £22. I thought this thread was going to be about what to put in shoe box collections for charity or something like that.
My mum used to say about one of her friends that she spent more on the wrapping paper, card, ribbon etc than the present inside. I guess that's OK to some people then.

hidinginthenightgarden · 22/11/2019 20:51

Nice chocolates?

Gatehouse77 · 22/11/2019 20:51

Fill it mostly with shredded tissue paper and a pair of earrings?

1Morewineplease · 22/11/2019 20:54

Wouldn’t dream of spending £22 on a box. They won’t appreciate the cost of the box and to open it and find a few flying saucers and a sherbet dip might be a bit disappointing.

ghostyslovesheets · 22/11/2019 20:59

hang on you want to buy them a £22 carboard box - but fill it with £3 of stuff - maybe wrap a free box in nice paper and fill it with £25 of stuff!

madness

neverornow · 22/11/2019 21:00

Young girls love this kind of thing for storing their jewellery and bits n bobs.

I'm doing similar for my nieces but with little backpacks and filling them with a mini box of miniature heros chocolates, hair accessories and stationery stuff. Primark is great for those little stocking filler type things

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 22/11/2019 21:04

Satsumas? A 22 quid box filled with satsumas? Hmm

user1493494961 · 22/11/2019 21:04

I agree with pp, madness.

Sweetdreamer93 · 22/11/2019 21:05

The OP asked for ideas for fillers and has stated that she is confident they will be received positively.
I didn’t see any of her/his text invite any additional advice or opinion yet people always seem to think they know better.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 22/11/2019 21:07

Goodness me Sweetdreamer fancy people giving their opinions on an advice/opinion forum.

Notthetoothfairy · 22/11/2019 21:09

I also think ratio of cost of box to fillers is madness but, if I were doing this, I would either fill to the top with Roses chocs or similar (sweets for the vegan) or put in some Claire’s accessories jewellery.

underneaththeash · 22/11/2019 21:13

Complete waste on money - I suspect it's the OP's business.

Wobblywibblywoo · 22/11/2019 21:18

Oh no way £22 on a box is very expensive ! Have you shopped around for different prices?

SlothRunner · 22/11/2019 21:18

Nail polish? You can get lots of colours in primark for less than a pound if i remember rightly. They also had little tubs of lip balm for 60p when i was in there the other day!

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 22/11/2019 21:19

I too suspect that the op might be Louisa the pink pheasant as if she did know that her relatives would love these boxes she would also know what they would want to put in them.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/11/2019 21:26

the boxes look nice but I'm not sure they are worth £22 even if they are wooden and hand painted. but onto my cheap but personal idea.

could you get one of those photo clip holders then print off some nice photos (either ones you have or stalk their social media and use them!) And laminate some inspirational quotes on card. if you download freeprints you can get 100 free prints. then they can display their favourites each day and the quotes can be kept for when they are upset or to give them a pick me up. my dd (11) loves a quote in her lunchbox :)

Notthetoothfairy · 22/11/2019 21:32

This box is cute and the seller may do you a deal on postage if buying multiples:

HairyDogsOfThigh · 22/11/2019 21:37

dontsweat, i rather thought the op might be pink pheasant too, otherwise it really doesn't make sense.

Josephinebettany · 22/11/2019 21:43

Who is Louisa the pink pheasant??? Confused

HairyDogsOfThigh · 22/11/2019 21:51

Josephine 'PinkPheasant' is the name of the company that is selling the (overpriced) boxes.

user0963786 · 22/11/2019 22:00

My 4 girls would love these, I would add the money to get os if 3 of them say spend £9ish on things like bath bomb, lip gloss set that you can separate between them these things can be picked up really cheap in pound, budget shops or little friendships type of bracelets and sweets
