I just don't get how anyone can watch this glorified animal abuse. If you enjoy watching celebs eating pig uterus and insects etc then i think you are tacky and judge you. Sorry.

OP posts:
PepsiCat33 · 22/11/2019 19:11

This reminds me of when chefs talk about 'respecting' the food they are preparing - as if the dead animal cares either way at that point whether it's covered in a carefully prepared jus or waggled around with OPs offal...

AgeLikeWine · 22/11/2019 19:13

Get a grip. If you don’t like I’m a celebrity, don’t watch it. I find this approach works rather well.

Livelovebehappy · 22/11/2019 19:17

I don’t watch it but respect other people’s choice to watch it if they want to. There is no animal cruelty - live insect eating is no longer allowed and other stuff is just the same as eating any other meat from an already dead animal. I hate it when people want to dictate what should or should not be on tv. If you don’t like it just switch on to one of the other dozens of channels there are.

Lipz · 22/11/2019 19:26

Lipz - Spiders serve no purpose to us?! Can you imagine how many little flying bugs we would have without spiders to eat them?

That's what fly killer is for :)

Rather kill them than spiders

Singlenotsingle · 22/11/2019 19:28

I can't watch the eating tàsks.

Hellofromtheotherside2020 · 22/11/2019 20:20

It's all so fake anyway! I live near where the UK version is filmed. It's not in a jungle, it's a national park. I used to watch it when I lived in England and wondered why they needed helicopters etc to get to their camp base when it is just a short walk from their starting point!
Are they having camp fires there at the moment? Only as there's a 100% fire ban currently in place across Australia due to the awful bush fires we've been having.
Ha remember years ago too they said there were crocs swimming near by where they bathe....crocodiles don't come this far south. They're like at least 9000+ km north of here.
So I don't even think half of the food they say is something really is what they say it is. They're not even secluded from the public, you're able to see their camp from the bridges!
In Australia, our version of I'm a celeb is filmed in Africa. I suspect that's just as false as the UK version.

ForalltheSaints · 22/11/2019 20:34

Any 'reality' show has a limited shelf life in my opinion (perhaps three series) and this is well beyond that.

Topseyt · 22/11/2019 21:21

It's on now, OP! Have you hoiked up your judgy pants?

Cherrysoup · 22/11/2019 21:38

I think it’s very cruel to put the rats/snakes/spiders etc into very stressful and unnatural situations. Yes, they’ve banned the live insect eating thing, but I’m surprised nobody has said how horrible it is for the poor things being shoved in plastic helmets, containers, boxes etc. They must get bashed about, that trial up a height had lots of very pretty black rats in the box.

BellatrixLestat · 22/11/2019 21:41

I think it’s very cruel to put the rats/snakes/spiders etc into very stressful and unnatural situations.

This.

courtlee · 22/11/2019 21:45

In last nights they had two bulls in quite a confined space which I didn't like and I don't like the water challenges where there are crocodiles with their mouths taped up in small spaces

Aaarrgghhh · 22/11/2019 21:48

I think eating questionable parts of animals for entertainment is abusive yes.

This is just ridiculous. People all over the world eat many different parts of an animal. It’s already dead so what is the issue?

cocoabasher · 22/11/2019 21:51

i think you are tacky and judge you. Sorry.

I judge you more for making this post but eating animals yourself Grin

Redglitter · 22/11/2019 21:54

Don't know why they were and still are allowed to use live animals

They're not and they dont

FizzyIce · 22/11/2019 21:57

I’ve read everything on here now .. ffs .
They’re the surplus bits of the animals that are already killed for the meat industry, they’re not just killed for their nobs or arseholes.
Get a fucking grip

leylabella · 22/11/2019 22:01

I don't think it's the eating that is the major concern as they don't eat live animals anymore. As PP said in a lot of the challenges the animals are in confined spaces like the crocodiles and the bulls in last nights task

FizzyIce · 22/11/2019 22:01

@Hellofromtheotherside2020 we know all that , we’re not stupid , it’s been common knowledge for years .
And no , they’re not having campfires this year, they have little gas Cookers

GuessWhoColeen · 22/11/2019 22:03

@Spied

Its repeated the next day on Itv2 at 7pm. Halloween Wink

Magicpaintbrush · 22/11/2019 22:16

It pisses me off when they use rats, putting them in a tank with loads of cockroaches and a panicking human who could easily squash them. Rats are intelligent, sensitive animals capable of feelings such as fear and affection and they should never be put in such a stressful and dangerous situation for the sake of 'entertainment' - if you can even call it that.

1066vegan · 22/11/2019 22:20

YNBU

I'm with the OP - and Chris Packham - on this one.

I watched a couple of episodes of the first series to see what it was like. I thought it was going to be more physical challenges. I hadn't anticipated the animal ones.

I'm glad that they no longer eat live animals but the fact that they still use live animals for other trials is disgusting. Apart from the fact that it could be stressful for the creatures, it perpetuates the idea that furry animals are cute but invertebrates are gross.

InsertFunnyUsername · 22/11/2019 22:32

Theres me thinking they actually dropped celebrities in to the jungle, surrounded by wild, ruthless animals with just doctor Bob to save them...

PenelopePeachStone · 22/11/2019 22:49

I’ve only skimmed this thread but I think the big question is WHFA (who the fuck are) any of these people??

Why are they desperate to be in the public Eye?

Surely nothing says z-list like I’m a celeb??

Poor fuckers

Samcro · 22/11/2019 22:51

i think it should be banned, as it gives the cheating dd driving tosser ant air time.

Thurmanmurman · 22/11/2019 22:59

Do you honestly think random people online give a flying fuck that you, a stranger, judge them? I’m not the biggest fan of the show but your judgement means absolutely fuck all. HTH
