Especially for cakes and pastries.

Lidl has a real problem with flies on their bread.I've reported it in store, phoned and emailed them. I wouldn't eat any of their bakery products.

Maybe but Wenzels is best.

I used like our local Wenzels but had to ask for filled baguettes with no spread as they use the cheap palm oil spread instead of butter and it tastes horrible. Then they started with wrinkly, slimy cucumber slices. You know how cucumber and tomato slices get manky in the middle after a couple of days?

The last one I had was clearly from the day before, if not the day before that. I complained and got a response that they would look into it and get back in touch. They didn't so I refuse to go there any more. I don't want to pay full price for stale food, may as well go to Greggs for palm oil, but never Lidl for bogeys, fly poo and jumper fluff.

I like sainsburys pastry and croissant selection. It feels cleaner than Lidls and Greg's near me always undercoook their croissants.

I liked the bakery at Lidl until summer when I went in and the flies were all Over the products as they are not covered up

But they don't do vegetable bakes! I'm gutted that Greggs have stopped doing them. Sad

Iceland sell frozen Gregg's vegetable bakes

Greggs are a bit shit. They always run out of food (I'm guaranteed never to get my preferred sandwich there) and the sausage rolls are lukewarm if you're lucky.
