Dog poo in autumn

AIBU to think someone needs to invent something to change the colour of dog poo in autumn.

15 minutes i stood in the park today searching for my dogs brown poo among all the brown leaves.

On one occasion before I’ve picked up a handful of leaves because I’ve searched for ages and not been able to spot it and didn’t want people to think I was just walking off and leaving it Blush

Thank you for making me lol 😂

I completely agree btw

UrsulaPandress · 18/11/2019 17:59

True. And my current dog likes to go a mad scraping of the ground like a demented bull sometimes covering his poo before I can get it.

echt · 18/11/2019 18:00

The devil of it is, it's not cold enough for it to steam so you can spot it.:o
Here in Australia, it's late spring so the flies are on it in seconds.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/11/2019 18:03

I’ve actually stood looking at it curl out of a dog’s arse, stepped forward to pick it up and went “where the fuck did that just go?” It’s easier if you have more than one dog, because the second dog usually goes over and gives it a good sniff. Creepy, furry perverts. I usually manage to find the rising steam, but have been known to pick up random dog poos, that are ice cold, because they’ve been lying right where my dog shit. 🤢

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 18/11/2019 18:08

That’ll be the excuse of the ignorant git who had left their dogs pile last week amongst the leaves that my toddler likes to jump in and run throughAngry

curlykaren · 18/11/2019 18:11

Ha this is so true. I always thought I'd be really good on that game show The Cube, when they have to remember which tiny square was lit, as I'm having to concentrate so hard on where the dog dropped his poo!

GooodMythicalMorning · 18/11/2019 18:14

agree op

draughtycatflap · 18/11/2019 18:22

“Dog Poo In Autumn” the alluring new fragrance from the House of Shih Tzu.

DirtyTicket · 18/11/2019 18:24

Oh god, yes. I've helped other fig owners search for their dog's poo amongst the leaves. I also hate the tiny twigs that I pick up with the poo that pierce the sodding bag.

DirtyTicket · 18/11/2019 18:24

*dog, not fig.

Mothership4two · 18/11/2019 18:36

Yep same here, even when you see exactly where they pooed. Usually takes 5 mins of staring at ground. I keep asking the dog "where did you go?" but she ignores me as, once it's out, it is my responsibility and not hers!

Mothership4two · 18/11/2019 18:37

I am going to start feeding her glitter, that'll make it easier!

Alsohuman · 18/11/2019 18:42

Inspired! It’s impossible to find among the leaves.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/11/2019 18:44

Genius. And a bonus extra Christmas sparkle. goes off to look up dog fancy dress unicorn outfit and edible glitter

ThrilledToTiddlyBits · 18/11/2019 18:50

Absolutely! The smaller the dog, the bigger the problem!

Branster · 18/11/2019 19:09

I agree. Do you think if we start mixing some glitter with the dog food we might get a solution to this very annoying problem? Better still, glow in the dark glitter if such a thing even exists ....

RollercoasterCoaster · 18/11/2019 19:15

@definitelyshouldknowbetter I felt awful leaving it but I scoured every square inch of where she’d been and couldn’t see it at all.

I think I’m doing well keeping an eye on where she is, look away for a second to get a bag out and completely lose where it is.

Glitter is a great idea!

Yes!

I squeezed a quick run round the park with her tonight just before it got dark. I spent ages hunting for the poo with my phone torch.

Spied what I thought was her’s, only for it to be freezing cold

Found it eventually, but it took forever

Our old dog ate a bag of loom bands once, he had very snazzy poo for a while

Clymene · 18/11/2019 19:23

We need some kind of fluorescent food supplement. My dog likes to poo in leaves. I have to stand right next to him, watching it drop. If I turn my head for a second, I have to clear the park of 6 bags of sodding leaves before I find it

pigsDOfly · 18/11/2019 19:28

We were in a muddy field today and every piece of mud looked like squashed dog poo. Didn't make for a relaxed walk.

My dog usually poos in the garden and even then sometimes it takes me ages to find it.

Glitter sounds like a brilliant idea to make it noticeable and it would cheer up my, currently, rather miserable looking garden no end.

motherheroic · 18/11/2019 19:30

Doesn't help when my dog immediately revs his back legs and covers the poo within a few seconds.

ThatLibraryMiss · 18/11/2019 19:31

My dog does a little prance and a flick of his rear end just as the poo drops, sending it flying off. Git.

I have a torch in my jacket pocket and often wonder what people think I'm looking for.

CorBlimeyGovenor · 18/11/2019 19:34

Am disappointed. I was expecting a poem.
On another topic though....whatever happened to White Dog Poo. Twas all the rage in the 80s as I recall! Never see it these days.

IAcceptCookies · 18/11/2019 19:49

Ah yes, white dog poo.
I recall it from the 70s and eighties.
Whatever they were feeding dogs then should be reintroduced now for autumn, would be much easier to spot poo if it were white.

I’m also suffering from the camouflage poo problem... luckily I live at the back of beyond, though!

IAcceptCookies · 18/11/2019 19:51

By which I mean my dog’s poo is camouflaged, not mine!
