Am I being unreasonable to think there must be more than one blimmin houmous factory in the whole of the UK?
Its never coming back is it ?
I've tried making my own and it's a faff (and horrible).

Why aren't more people talking about this crisis I haven't been able to get hold of any for weeks, NW too. Asda, Morrisons, Aldi and Sainsburys are all out.

Dh bought some in Tesco at the weekend

DD only likes Asda houmous and they've not had it for weeks.

Wish I'd known and I'd have kept the ingredients list to try and make my own!

Make it with tinned chick peas op and add the water from the tin - makes it really creamy.

Not all areas have a shortage. My local Sainsbury's and Tesco were full of the stuff the other day. I had no trouble buying a tub.

What could someone possibly say on a thread about houmous which is delete-worthy?

There was none in Morrisons at the weekend.

I made houmous once. It was a rare food that actually tasted worse homemade.

This has had me distressed for weeks!! I’m glad we’re finally talking about the big issues here on MN.

I went to Tesco to buy some tinned chickpeas, and there were hardly any left!
No Napolina brand, and three tins of own brand.

I've got 35 tina of chickpeas and 22 time of butterbeans in cupboard, and people always think I'm mad. But the great houmous shortage of 2019 has proven me right!

There was loads of hummus in Waitrose this morning, Moorish, Sabra and Waitrose Essential brands, I believe. There might have been some gaps, so not a full selection though.

You poor things.

Now this is the issue that the Fail and all the other gladrags should be quoting us on...

You know what's going to happen now, don't you?

All the shops will be left with shelves groaning under the weight of uneaten pitta breads and ready-prepared carrot batons.

Or everyone will discover how easy it is to make hummus and won't buy ready made any more.

No one has been forthcoming with a decent recipe though!

And I need quantities. Not a splodge of this and a dash of that. Because I promise you. I’ll end up with slop otherwise.
