Exh has our dd every other weekend. She is almost 8 and very well behaved. She came home after a visit and used the word 'crap' to say that something was rubbish. Apparently she had heard ex H's teenage stepson using this word. AIBU to message him asking that he make sure this never happens again?

I've also met people from here so I'm really not a troll. Age/sex of dc may have changed for privacy reasons (am slightly concerned neurotic dp ex will find me).

MN will confirm I am not a name changer and am nothing to do with the other similar ish thread, so do report if you have concerns.

I wouldn't like it but I would explain to my child that is an adult word and I wouldn't mention it to the step child or the parent unless it was in my presence. I would say something if it was stronger language though.

Inthemoment38 · 17/11/2019 19:23

Here's a text I've drafted for your step daughter's mum:

So sorry about the swearing. Hope U R ok hun. I'll make sure DS never comes out with any shit like that again.
XOXO

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 17/11/2019 19:24

Grin brilliant response!

He should of just replied..

Oh crap, your talking shit again I see.

😂

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 17/11/2019 19:31

Sadly that would probably end up in a solicitor's letter, as she reacts to the slightest provocation.

Bellaxx8 · 17/11/2019 19:33

She really is a drama llama then.

Maybe just don’t be so over dramatic will do.

She has far to much time on her hands by the looks of it. Just send her some hobby suggestions 😂

braw · 17/11/2019 19:39

I've heard 8 year olds say fuck, cool it.

IncrediblySadToo · 17/11/2019 19:44

Because reverse threads are not allowed

Where’d you get that crap from?

@Farontothemaddingcrowd.

You can safely ignore the daft cow. Just mind you don’t lose your eye balls 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Easy tiger. This is a quote from the talk guidelines No trolling, misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour

Reverse threads are misleading. MNHQ have confirmed this in the past.

littlepaddypaws · 17/11/2019 20:54

ffs really ? she's THAT parent.

BrickTop999 · 17/11/2019 21:05

Good thread and needed to be in reverse as step mothers often get bad press on here. I know exactly what you mean. My friends ex is a total control freak lunatic. She cant help herself and has spent a fortune on solucitors letters nit picking over crap ( oops fuck it, I mean shit never meant to say such a word ! Grin) but she just ignores any of his genuine concerns. He just returns them to sender now as they are all without legal basis lol
Id just ignore the prat ( oh for fuck sake stop my potty mouth !)

MonaChopsis · 17/11/2019 21:13

Ha my then 8 year old DD saw a drunken teenage girl being arrested!! I had to explain a fair few new & exciting words that day, 'crap' wouldn't have even been on the list!

tillytrotter1 · 17/11/2019 23:05

AIBU to message him asking that he make sure this never happens again?

I presume you'll be suggesting ways in which he achieve your aims and demands?
Do enure that your child never reads posts on this site!

PennyNotSoWise · 17/11/2019 23:23

Because reverse threads are not allowed.

I've seen a few posts where MNHQ add a disclaimer in bold at the end of the OP stating that it's been revealed to be a reverse, so they are allowed. Does seem to go against their own 'misleading' guideline though.

This reverse is actually pretty harmless though, it's straight forward and factual. Many reverses involve the OP making up guessing what the other person in their story is thinking and usually paint them deliberately to be the villain to get a unanimous answer in their favour. I fucking hate those types.

Singlenotsingle · 17/11/2019 23:26

That child will hear much worse over the course of the next few years.

WagtailRobin · 17/11/2019 23:29

The ex of your partner is beyond ridiculous; Crap, honestly? Woah, crap, crap, crap!

justilou1 · 17/11/2019 23:41

That precious little flower is totally going to have multiple piercings, tattoos and drug habits in about five minutes if she keeps this shit up.

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 18/11/2019 06:17

She is actually very nervous and terrified of breaking any rules. For her age she is very very young. I think it's such a shame and it is down to parenting.

OP posts:
justilou1 · 18/11/2019 10:18

She will explode and rebel when hormones kick in

beefthief · 18/11/2019 10:59

There's people replying who haven't rtft, and don't know it's a reverse. The longer the thread gets, the fewer contributors will read the entire thread.
It's just going to be a mess of People talking across each other and not having the full story. Tedious and, er, crap.

Damntheman · 18/11/2019 11:42

On the plus side, at least she didn't say "fart" Grin
