Just that.
Although he is being asked the wrong questions.

I don't understand why he would have to get an American to bring a girl over from his "portfolio".I imagine lots of silly young ladies might sleep with this dreadful guy because of his title anyway.

doritosdip · 17/11/2019 12:09

It's not all that long ago It's 18 years ago! Do you think staff stay at PE that long? They don't need to work at PE now. People will remember a celebrity visiting their workplace and would have mentioned it to friends and family back then. If I knew someone who had worked there in 2001 I would have asked them if it was true. Any customer on the day or workers would make a lot of money from the tabloids especially if they had photographic proof.
As an aside I was talking to my kids about celebs I'd met through work. Some of these stories were from the late 90s.

doritosdip · 17/11/2019 12:12

This woman who is accusing him has said nothing about why she lived that life in a rich Western country for years and years. She's after fame and compensation in my view.

Did you not read about the freakishly lenient sentence Epstein got first time? How many 16/17 year olds know how to get hold of their passport when their abusers are watching? How do you know which staff could be trusted?

cochineal7 · 17/11/2019 12:13

No recollection of having met a girl or having been at a certain place in your own friend’s house in spite of clear photographic evidence that should at least jog some memory, but super clear memory of being at Pizza Express that same day. Right...

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 17/11/2019 12:16

The original notorious photograph is held by the FBI. If they had found any obvious doctoring it would be easy for them to say so.

Butchyrestingface · 17/11/2019 12:19

People just love sticking the knife in public figures they don't like for one reason or another.

People dislike him, not for some nebulous "one reason or another", but because he's a greedy, grasping, work-shy, money-grubbing, shiftless, shameless, arrogant cunt oxygen thief. And coming a family where at least SOME of those qualities are hardly in short supply, he stands out like a sore thumb.

And last night's interview proved what I had long suspected, he's as thick as pigshit to boot.

GREATAUNT1 · 17/11/2019 12:20

He’s a secret lemonade drinker.

IcedPurple · 17/11/2019 12:21

@ChazsBrilliantAttitude Very good point. Also, if you were a prominent public figure and believed that a photograph may have been doctored in order to portray you in a very incriminating manner, wouldn't you take action to investigate this? With the aim of finding out who was responsible and possibly taking legal action against them?

But Andy is acting as though he thinks that someone manipulated a photo in such a damaging way is slightly less annoying than the fact that Pizza Express in Woking charge an extra 5 quid for home delivery.

TanteRose · 17/11/2019 12:22

Wow the victim blaming here is unbelievable Shock

Do you really think these young vulnerable girls had a say in what was happening to them? Read this about Epstein.

www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2018/12/3/18116351/jeffrey-epstein-case-indictment-arrested-trump-clinton

"The girls and women who reported abuse by Epstein, meanwhile, were markedly powerless. Most of them “came from disadvantaged families, single-parent homes or foster care,” Brown reports. “Many of the girls were one step away from homelessness.”

Their youth and poverty may have made it easier for Epstein and his alleged recruiters to lure them in with promises of cash, easier for investigators to intimidate them, and easier for prosecutors to discount or disbelieve them when the time came."

"Girls and young women are routinely seen as unreliable narrators of their own experiences, including abuse, and it typically takes the testimony of many women for a powerful man to face any consequences."

Trentadoodoo · 17/11/2019 12:23

Jingling

I cannot bear this trial by media these days which in many cases is unfounded. People just love sticking the knife in public figures they don't like for one reason or another.

Please tell us how you would prefer the public to respond to the EM PA interview? What would be a suitable response from the British people in your view?

PA chose to provide a very public statement non statement it's obvs. not possible to say that he has def. committed a crime based on the interview but it is most certainly possible to judge him for his actions, especially staying with a convicted criminal and not denouncing his friendship with that horrid woman what'shername In the public interview he comes across very badly, namely he comes across as a pompous opportunist who thinks the public commoners are gullible as f*.

A poster unthread said that it will be interesting how the charities his name is associated with will respond now. We'll watch with interest.

There are probably security logs that show that he and his daughter have indeed been at that Pizza place. However, interesting how he says that they went to PE at 4 or 5 o clock.. can't remember his script?

Why is that even an alibi? Birthday parties don't usually take longer than 1.5 -32 hours. There was plenty of time in the day to be elsewhere and do other things. Very odd of im to mention pizza express.

Trentadoodoo · 17/11/2019 12:24

*1.5 - 2 hours

JinglingHellsBells · 17/11/2019 12:25

@Tiddlerontheroof Gosh you are one angry woman. What's your emotional investment in all of this?

I'm trying to address the balance a bit.

Over the years there have been many instances of people accusing public figures of all kinds of things and they often have their own odd agenda. You are being naive is you think that all this is about justice because I'm pretty certain it' s not just that. And just because I ask a question of the accuser is hardly a witch hunt. So do stop being silly.

If he is proven guilty put him in jail and throw away the key. But it's not up to Emily M to act as prosecuting barrister, or the public to say he's guilty because he's an unpopular prince. That needs a court.

We should all be angry about the way women and girls are still treated.

What a load of bollocks. He didn’t have to do the interview. And we can say anything we like.

I would say that everyone needs to wait to see if the police press charges. Trial by media is not the way forward. Just because someone doesn't give answers people want or expect does not mean they are guilty no matter how much the public is baying for that.

Trentadoodoo · 17/11/2019 12:30

Agreed

Anotherblokelurking · 17/11/2019 12:30

Stooshie8 Was she underage at 17? In the US state where it allegedly took place, yes. Even if not over here given his age and status it was still inappropriate

JinglingHellsBells · 17/11/2019 12:31

@Tiddlerontheroof No of course it doesn't 'satisfy me and that there is no need to be so sarcy. I could tell you had some back story as you are so upset. I hope you got the help you needed then.

JacquesHammer · 17/11/2019 12:32

I could tell you had some back story as you are so upset

So the need to ask was pretty crass, not least the way you framed it.

IcedPurple · 17/11/2019 12:33

@JinglingHellsBells Whether or not Airmiles Andy is personally guilty of any criminal actions is up to the courts to decide, though it's unlikely that will ever happen.

However, it is a fact that he continued to consort with Epstein after he had served time for numerous sex offences. At the very very least, that shows appallingly bad judgement and a callous disregard for all of the women and girls abused by Epstein. Wouldn't you agree that such a person - again at the very very least - should have no role to play in the public life of the country?

He did it anyone can see it but his privilege in life means he will not be bought to justice which is fucking wrong
