Or is the word plinth funny?

Vexorg · 16/11/2019 12:43

I can’t explain why, but I’ve always found the word plinth deeply funny. When we were organising the kitchen, I kept sniggering whoever we talked about fitting the units.
I also laugh at crayon.
Does anyone else have words that make them smirk?

YANBU! It always cracks me up!

Fruityb · 16/11/2019 12:47

Handsome plinth!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/11/2019 12:48

Yes, it is.

Anyone who listens to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue knows this, of course.

steff13 · 16/11/2019 12:48

What makes them funny to you? If someone says something that is a double entendre, I giggle, but not just at random words.

NoSauce · 16/11/2019 13:09

The name Finbar always makes me laugh!

NomDeQwerty · 16/11/2019 13:10

Palaver makes me laugh

PorridgeAgainAbney · 16/11/2019 13:23

Underlay. Has to be said twice in a very bad generic Spanishy accent. No idea why.

Cumin. Alway said in a spooky deep voice like a baddie/undead type person would say if he was inviting you to "come in".

ErrolTheDragon · 16/11/2019 13:31

'Moist' is both funny and a bit yuck.

JaceLancs · 16/11/2019 13:32

Twirl in this house but only when DS says it
DP always giggles when I use words he doesn’t yesterday it was garments

funmummy48 · 16/11/2019 13:38

I read "nozzle" and my lips instantly twitched. Gusset does it for me.......I'm sniggering as I type it out! Tentacles makes me giggle and I never, ever use the words "moist" or "meaty". 😂

Nonstopbuttmachine · 16/11/2019 15:13

Flange 😆😆😆 I have to say the word at least six times a day at work and it still makes me giggle; very embarrassing when I'm on the phone to a supplier Blush

adaline · 16/11/2019 15:14

Reminds me of Miranda.

"A moist plinth"

Katisha · 16/11/2019 15:20

Purchase is a prissy word. As is meal. And, for some reason, portion.

Isleepinahedgefund · 16/11/2019 15:20

Flaccid

Particularly when in conjunction with Moist

Tee hee hee!

bottomflannel · 16/11/2019 15:50

I quite like gondola.

funmummy48 · 16/11/2019 16:05

Flaccid 😂😂😂

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 16/11/2019 16:11

Probably outing myself but one of my old drama teachers was brilliant on the funniness or otherwise of random words. Tuesday is (apparently) a funny day, but no-one ever gets a laugh out of a Friday.

VeryQuaintIrene · 16/11/2019 16:23

Membrane. Just - yuck.

JumpyLiz · 16/11/2019 16:25

I find the word pith hilarious.

DottieLottie1 · 16/11/2019 16:30

@PorridgeAgainAbney,

I'm assuming you are remembering the cartoon Speedy Gonzales? You know 'The fastest mouse in Mexico' ? Arriba, Arriba, Andale, Andale! So underlay = Andale in a mexican accent 😉
