To spend my £50 M&S voucher all on stuffing?

Background: We're in the middle of having an incredibly tight budget. We scrimp and save every penny and shop at Aldi/Lidl with about £50 a week.

I'm over the moon. I've been gifted a £50 M&S gift card!!! Perfect timing as would love to get some treats in for Christmas!

I'd love to make my voucher go as far as it can. I tried the m&s pork and chestnut stuffing once and it was delicious so will add that to my list! Can anyone recommend their favourite treats from M&S. We don't really drink and have toddler DS.

Oh if you like cheese do you like fairly strong cheddar? Their cornish crunchers is the best!

StrictlyNameChangin · 14/11/2019 13:27

No wait. To be fair aldi's super matured Cheddar and Red Leicester are so nearly almost as good that, so scratch that.

@Adogwithabone and @littlecabbage that was one of the best exchanges I've seen on Mumsnet. Awareness raised, no hard feelings, agreement and understanding of each other's position.

What we really need is someone who could buy that voucher off you (maybe even for £60 so you don't lose out) and then do some sort of protest with the voucher

Any ideas????

If my crazy half baked idea doesn't happen. Happy spending!

Are refunds possible on vouchers??? Then you get the money and M&S lose out financially too (though spare a thought for all the employees) argh. Too many variables!

Protest therefore needs to get message home without negatively affecting women who work there, especially on the ship floor.

Cornish cruncher cheese- in the black wrapping. Best cheddar EVER.

Can't you all just let the op enjoy her voucher without derailing her thread?

@Adogwithabone, the muffins from the bakery are lovely. I like the chocolate ones best. Oh and their little post of clotted cream rice pudding.

Mark's and Spencer shortbread and Tesco's is exactly the same, made in the same burtons biscuits factory, friend works there and says the mix is just separated off into different packaging

Look on the M & S app, there is all of the Christmas food on it, I would splash out on the lobster thermidore if money was no object, but there are lovely cooked meats, sides for Christmas dinner, lots of snacks & nibbles or salads. Why not do a click & collect order to pick up at Christmas?

Hold your nerve and ask when it's yellow sticker time!

YABVVU. Spend it all on their belgian choc truffles with the flakey bits on, currently £3. Team with red wine or port. The mouth equivalent of an orgasm.

Adogwithabone · 14/11/2019 15:12

The mouth equivalent of an orgasm hahahaha Grin I might get a couple of them then!

Cornish cruncher cheese sounds perfect!

@SciFiScream it can't be exchanged for cash unfortunately. I would have done that and gone to Waitrose instead if I had a choice and told them exactly why as I find their view on women's rights ridiculous. If we weren't on such a tight budget, I'd spend it all on M&S luxury eggs and hurl them at their head office.

@Nyctophyllia that's so interesting. I know that Aldi's own hula hoops are just repackaged branded hula hoops and Aldi's formula milk is repackaged aptamil!
