I've eaten my 1200 cals. Done about 400 cals worth of exercise. Sitting here thinking about food. Help.

I eat 1400 and lose a pound a week, which I'm happy with, and I think it's sustainable. I do include some walking and a few strength execrations home, but not loads. My calorie counting is accurate.

I eat carbs at every meal, and some protein, eg half a chicken breast, eggs, or 140g fish.

I eat porridge, muesli or toast for breakfast, a 300 cal lunch including carbs, and a 500 cal dinner including rice, bread or potatoes etc. I eat greek yogurt and skimmed milk or similar. Loads of fruit and veg.

I have in the past lost more weight per week at 1200 calories, but I do t think it's sustainable, and it doesn't help me as much in terms of eating permanent pattern changes.

Exercises!

Blackandwhitehorse · 11/11/2019 20:29

I do this, I need to hide my toaster 😂 I need to get back on my fitness pal but find it really hard to record the calories as I cook stuff fresh and don’t want to be weighing out everything- does anyone have any tips or is this unavoidable?

NonUrinatInVentum · 11/11/2019 20:30

I actually can't ... The amount of inaccuracies in one thread .... Confused

managedmis · 11/11/2019 20:34

Eat cottage cheese

Gennz18 · 11/11/2019 20:34

@Trewser “I know it works as I lost a stone and then piled it all back on”

Do you see a problem with that statement?

1200 cals is too low if you also burnt 400 cals exercising. It won’t kill you but it’s not sustainable.

Just have a piece of toast. Small changes over time is what will work vs dramatic changes that can’t be sustained.

There's been some really good recent studies about how your particular biome affects your ability to lose weight, basically it's different for everyone.

Put History Today on YouTube. 'Tis hilarious and will take your mind off food. Works for me, anyway...

Trewser · 11/11/2019 20:37

It's fine, only connect and university challenge are on.

This doesnt sound particularly sustainable. Yo yo dieting springs to mind.

Look up James Smith PT on FB or instagram. He has some good advice

JayeAshe · 11/11/2019 20:54

Tips in case this happens again:

  • Airwaves chewing gum
  • Aldi chilli gherkins
Trewser · 11/11/2019 20:54

If James Smith is the one I'm thinking of, he recommends cutting calories. Which is what I'm doing.

It's hardly yoyo dieting. I've been on two diets in 10 years.

JayeAshe good tips, thanks

Babybel light are 42 calories each and I'll have one of those if I get desperate on diet

Charmlight · 11/11/2019 20:59

Have you had a look at Fast800? Quick results, low carb. Painful, but for a shorter time.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/11/2019 20:59

@Trewser if you are logging with my fitness pal then you can change your calorie allowance by pressing the 3 lines on top left of screen,go into Goals then press on the first box in the Nutrition goals section.

HavelockVetinari · 11/11/2019 21:02

Jeez people, stop telling her to eat toast! She's after motivation and will power, not people trying to sabotage her efforts.

Stay strong OP, you know the first few days are the worst, it gets easier once your body adjusts.

Lana08 · 11/11/2019 21:04

I find Aldi healthy bread good.
Another one here who started yesterday.
DH getting a vasectomy was the sign to get going Grin no more babies(2 year old and 3 month old) Time to get my body back.

I’m doing MFP and on over 1700 cals. I’m breastfeeding too. I have dropped my pregnancy weight twice before leaving the hospital only to gain it while feeding Shock

Good luck to all.

Ariadnepersephonecloud · 11/11/2019 21:04

Also started today and so hungry. I don't think I should be, I have eaten 3 meals. I think I just got used to eating too much 😢

JayeAshe · 11/11/2019 21:04

@Trewser aaww thanks Blush

Trewser · 11/11/2019 21:04

Yeah I really don't want to eat toast! It's my crack!

Thank you honeysuckle!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/11/2019 21:06

@Trewser I started 1200 calories today too.Im fucking starving but trying not to cave in.

Exploring · 11/11/2019 21:16

I'm on week 5 of weight watchers and have 23 points a day, Warburtons milk roll is 3 points for 2 slices and 3 rice cakes are 2 points so I've replaced normal bread with those, not every day but sometimes. Grapes and yoghurt are ticking the pudding box, with the odd meringue.

Trewser · 11/11/2019 21:17

I fucking love milk roll. I'd eat the whole loaf, toasted and with butter.
