I know I am but please help...I've tried and tried and I'm just not good at it!

What I want to do is create an A4 print with a repeat of an image on it multiple times.

The image, I want to appear within a 35mm circle...so however many of of them I can fit onto an A4 sheet.

I've tried to use Canva...no joy...it seems so complex! I did download GIMP which purports to be a sort of free Photoshop but it's like looking at a foreign language!

Has anyone got some sort of fool proof instructions for me please?

Can you create a circle in PowerPoint, use your design as a fill in the circle then repeat the design? Might be the easiest way rather than downloading new software.

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 06:06

Thanks Witch I've never used Powerpoint...I'll have a look at it now.

It’s a lot easier, when you right click and fill chose fill as a picture, hope it works

RuggyPeg · 11/11/2019 06:19

Someone on people per Hour will do that for you for about £20.

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 06:19

I just checked it out...and I found it quite tricky. When you open a new document in Powerpoint there's a big "TITLE HERE" thing which I can't seem to ditch.

Also, the circles...I can only seem to find blue ones! I'm such a technophobe! Any more tips please Witch?

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 06:20

Ruggy good point...I hadn't thought of that! I might continuie to try myself for a bit but that's a possible option!

I could do that for you. I'm on my phone at the moment so can't do PM, but if you want I'll go get out my laptop

At a very basic level (Not sure what you need these for and this may be too basic) within windows you can Use ‘shapes’. Go to Insert tab. select ‘shapes’ play around you can select eg ovals or circles with any colour or none and can then type text or insert image (copy and paste) into the shape. You can change sizes of the shape and the text to get to your 35mm.
You could then create a table - again ‘insert’ tab gives you this option. Or go to ‘mailings’ then ‘labels’ to create a page of label sized areas (whatever size you need). Copy and paste your shape into each part of table or on each label.
Before printing if you don’t want the grid lines to be printed highlight table (this bring up the table tools tabs) keep table highlighted - choose ‘design’ then ‘borders’ then ‘no border’.
At each stage save a copy before playing around. Would be nightmare to get to the end and lose it all.
Apols if this is not what you want or too simple a design tool.
Alternatively do you have a good local print shop - I have some local to me who would be able to do this easily quickly and not expensively if I took/emailed/scanned etc the design and explained what I wanted.

drivingmisspotty · 11/11/2019 06:27

The title here bit won’t appear when you print (I don’t think) but if it bothers you click on the box around it and press the delete key.

Draw a blue circle. Using the right hand mouse button, click on the blue circle. Click fill and choose fill as picture then add your image. Copy and paste it multiple times.

Personally I would do it in word instead. Then you get it in A4 easily. Are you trying to print stickers? Word might have a template for that.

drivingmisspotty · 11/11/2019 06:40
Try this for some instructions
BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 07:06

Heron thank you...tried that but I think it's too basic...I can't resize the image within the circle.

Spotty Yes...labels...I will try again in Powerpoint with your instructions.

And I will check if Word has a template! Cheers all...I;ll keep at it.

Where are you printing the labels? Maybe they will have a template or an option to upload the image?

msmith501 · 11/11/2019 08:18

OP if you want to send me the image I will do it in PowerPoint and send it back to you both in PowerPoint and also as an A4 image.

msmith501 · 11/11/2019 08:39

This is how many circles you can get. There might be a little less cutting if you ensure the circles touch each other. Let me know if I can help s per prev message. If I can, then let me know about colours, border sizes, the size of the image within the circle etc.

MrsSmith that's really kind of you but I want to add lettering to the images too...I'd feel like I was putting on you too much. I think I wanted to do it myself so I could mess around....I don't want you to waste your time doing it and then find that I'm wanting to alter it...I think I might need to learn this myself so I can do lots of designs. Also I think I'mn having an image issue as the ones I've been using are old, copyright free vintage images I picked up from Pinterest so they might not be good enough quality?

OP posts:
msmith501 · 11/11/2019 09:09

Ok. Try and see how you get on. Let me know if I can help. I'll check MN later just in case.

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 09:09

Also when I paste the image onto the circle...it just sort of goes over it. It's not fitting within the circle and I'm not sure how to do that.

OP posts:
BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 09:18

Ooh but I've worked it out! The image I chose is a tad too small though so isn't completely filling the circle...I'll look for a different image and try again! This help is so much appreciated!

msmith501 · 11/11/2019 09:46

Many images also have a white background that can get in the way of the circle. Click on the image in PowerPoint, go to format (image) tan st top and somewhere over to the left will be an option about colour correction or similar. One of the drop downs is titles something like "Male colour transparent" - select that and click on the image background and that colour will disappear and become transparent. Have a go.

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 09:52

MrsSmith I was doing so well and now I've messed up! I had it so I was able to choose images from my own computer and then just insert them...and they were fitting in nicely. Then I went away to look for more images and when I came back, the option had "gone" I just can't see how to get back to it again! It was through the bit on the right that I'd got up and it said something like "fill" and I could choose to insert...any ideas please?

OP posts:
msmith501 · 11/11/2019 09:55

Crap ways. One - Home, Insert, picture and select an image from pc. You can them resize it and mo e it into position. Two, right click on circle, format (at bottom of pop up), fill, fill with picture or similar word and it will take whatever picture you select and fill the circle - often either odd results as it will squeeze the image in.

msmith501 · 11/11/2019 09:57

I'm doing this from memory as now not near pc but it should be right

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 10:20

That was it! I was doing the right click thing...thank you SO much MsSmith this is amazing! It looks much better than I'd hoped!

OP posts:
BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 10:50

MSmith sorry...I'm back! Is there an easy way for me to add text to the circles now please? I'm playing around...but don't want to mess up!
