To consider wearing slipper at work?

Slightly lighthearted but I would actually love to be able to!
I lecture at a university, so I wouldn't consider it for the days I'm student facing.
However, I have an admin day once a week, where I barely move from my desk, I share with two guys who aren't always in.
There is a small chance students will come to see me or I may pop in to the office a couple of doors down the corridor
Could I get away with the boot slippers??

Oh and incase it makes a difference it is one of two jobs so I would have to take the extra shoes home every few days for my other job and it just gets a pain with laptop folders etc

When I saw "slipper" singular, I thought you were talking about one of these.

I always have two pairs of shoes under my desk, heels and flats, and they interchange in the day depending on what meetings I have etc. So I say go for it. Do you mean something like in this pic?

I work at a university and I wear slippers when I am not teaching or in meetings. Do it.

In our office we nearly all wear slippers in the day. We work with some of the biggest financial institutions in the country and get exceptional results - how you're dressed is fuck all to do with your work ethic.

@Antigon that's what I would like in a an ideal world in all honesty I can't afford that kind of price

The ones I have that I was considering are these, I can't find any black ones in my local shops.

If it helps I normally wear jeans and a jumper on the admin days (usually with trainers but the breathable ones leak on the commute) jeans and a blouse if teaching and black jeans and a blouse on exam days

More than one lecturer at my unis (2 different ones) wore slippers in none lecture times, including one to ones. One wore them in lectures. No one batted an eyelid!

One of my favourite jobs was when the new Head extended the children wearing slippers indoors to the staff if they wanted. It was so much more comfortable, plus keeping a couple of different pairs meant you could grab the kids' attention when you wanted it by changing to outrageous slippers

CherryPavlova · 12/11/2019 20:10

We used to have soft soled indoor shoes for school.
My husband often wears Mahabi slippers in his office.He wears boots if he’s got the dog with him and needs to change to avoid mud on the carpets.

@GREATAUNT1

Can you link to those slipper/shoes ? They look just my kind of thing but I am only getting a picture from your link - not where to buy them. Thanks Smile

Confrontayshunme · 12/11/2019 20:25

Let me recommend these. Amazing. Outdoor soles and look sort of like shoes. www.totes.co.uk/mobile/details.aspx?pid=51267&colour=black

@KurryKurry

I got them from Pavers for £20, although I got a couple of pairs for £4.50 each in the sale. They’re a dream to wear, & they wash lovely too Smile

Oh thank you @GREATAUNT - off to look at their website now Smile
