To think this is odd of DH?

DH and I have been together 7 years. In that time he has often bought me tampons whilst he’s been at shop simply because I don’t like going into shops. I’ve used the same brand for all those 7 years.
Yesterday he went to asda and I asked him to buy me some tampons. He called me from the shop saying they didn’t have any tampax, only “always”. I said it was strange, as they always have them so he asked what the box looked like etc ... I told him and he said they definately only have always. Eventually he said he could see a blue tampax box but they were “inserting ones”. Confused I said “but that’s what I use ... “ he said “but you always use pads?” I’ve never, ever used pads!!

AIBU to think this is odd? He’s never known me use pads and has bought my tampons for me many, many times ...

Was he getting confused between applicator and non- applicator?

plunkplunkfizz · 10/11/2019 08:34

Man buys same thing multiple times. Man loses all memory of having ever bought said thing.

I’m surprised you even have to ask. What’s your real question?

Andysbestadventure · 10/11/2019 08:35

How old is he?

Ginfordinner · 10/11/2019 08:37

Why won't you go shopping? Do you suffer from agoraphobia?

Apolloanddaphne · 10/11/2019 08:39

Very odd. Are you worried about him having memory loss?

OverByYer · 10/11/2019 08:45

Maybe he’s just been picking up the box without taking any notice of what’s in it? Doesn’t sound odd to me at all

Straycatstrut · 10/11/2019 08:47

Worried about him having someone on the side who uses pads or memory loss?

I'm 30 and I have this kind of memory loss all the damn time, life is manic! Is he under a lot of stress at the moment!

Straycatstrut · 10/11/2019 08:48

Sorry meant ? not !

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 10/11/2019 08:48

You think your DH is odd?🤔

lowlandLucky · 10/11/2019 08:49

Typical bloke

PrincessHoneysuckle · 10/11/2019 08:51

Order your shopping online along with your tampax, that's what I do.

HulksPurplePanties · 10/11/2019 08:52

Unless things like this have been happening regularly and you're worried about early onset Alzheimer's, I would assume it was your run of the mill brain burp.

fedup21 · 10/11/2019 08:54

What are you concerned by? Memory loss or do you think he’s shagging someone who he buys pads for?

Toffeecakes · 10/11/2019 09:07

He’ll be buying the same box, he won’t be bothered about the contents, the usual box won’t have been there and he can’t find the alternative because he didn’t know what he was buying in the first place.

plunkplunkfizz · 10/11/2019 09:13

Typical bloke

Bit sexist, no?

PepePig · 10/11/2019 09:17

If you want to be fussy then buy them yourself Confused

EleanorReally · 10/11/2019 09:18

you need to get help to enable you to go into shops yourself op.

Bluesheep8 · 10/11/2019 09:26

Just buy your own. Quicker and easier than spending time analysing DH's behaviour.

JonSlow · 10/11/2019 09:26

Or buy them online?

Anotherlongdrive · 10/11/2019 09:29

He probably hasn't even thought about it.

Or a
Had a lapse in memory.

It happens, is there a reason you are so concerned

TamaraDeLempicky · 10/11/2019 09:30

Yes it is odd, OP. A lot of people seem to have got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning Hmm

Bouldghirl · 10/11/2019 09:30

Is it odd? Yes probably but is it anything to worry about? Not really. The majority of men neither know nor want to know the ins and outs of menstrual products. If he’s been buying the right ones for 7 years that is an achievement in itself so I’d just put this down to a blip.

Bluesheep8 · 10/11/2019 09:31

Actually this is the second thread I've seen recently about men buying sanitary protection and getting it wrong. I said the same to that poster - just buy your own!

PositiveVibez · 10/11/2019 09:33

Go on. I'll say it. Do you think it could be early on set dementia?

TheSquashyHatOfMrGnosspelius · 10/11/2019 09:40

He will have always just bought the same thing without thinking whether they go in or on.

I don't think it's fair of you to expect him to give it any more thought than he already has done to be honest.
