To ask what you want for Christmas?

My DH and his extended large family are all seriously Christmas mad. Everyone makes long lists and buys each other lots of presents (not necessarily extravagant and expensive, just lots of things). I like giving presents but honestly could do without receiving them, I usually struggle to come up with a list and this year is harder as I'm pregnant so no alcohol and have a young DS so don't go out much, so don't need any new makeup or anything.
I've mentioned in previous years maybe not worrying about me, or maybe doing a secret Santa type thing, but they won't have it and just bug me for more things for my list.
So, after that very long intro, could I ask what people are wanting or hoping for for Christmas? I'm hoping to get some inspo for maybe stuff I haven't thought of (either for my list or to buy someone else)
Sorry I'm asking this so far ahead of Christmas, can't be helped with this family Grin

Murinae · 09/11/2019 20:31

I want a light for my chicken coop and a parlay hairdryer

Murinae · 09/11/2019 20:32

Parlux

middlemuddle · 09/11/2019 20:39

I don't get any gifts but if I did...hotel chocolat, Lush, fancy notebook, clothes vouchers (need a coat and jeans).:)

@QueenWhatevs I've got myself a lego set and somebody has got me another one :)

PavlovaFaith · 09/11/2019 20:42

Nice PJs
Anything from Temple Spa
Chanel No.5
New slippers
Underwear!!!
Theatre tickets
Blankets

BarbedBloom · 09/11/2019 20:44

I have makeup on my list, a set of Sara Miller plates, nice copies of my favourite books e.g. an illustrated hard bound version of Neverwhere. A pretty new journal to make into my next bullet journal. Some stuff for the garden, a little stone dragon and plant pots.

cherryblossomgin · 09/11/2019 20:47

I would like blankets, PJs, socks, scarves, loose tea and some nice toiletries. I always say to family to get me a blanket or a scarf or some tea. I appreciate anything that keeps me warm or anything I can use in the bath. I am kinda boring tbh. I am a total heathen and like Bayliss and Hardings. I prefer buying the presents tbh and I don't actually need anything.

Casander · 09/11/2019 20:49

A bit indulgent but I really want some cloud 9 straighteners and a fancy bread maker, one with a compartment for nuts and seeds Grin

cheesenpickles · 09/11/2019 21:00

I really want a KitchenAid mixer but because things are tight I've asked for a new (and cheap) gym bag. Smile

DisplayPurposesOnly · 09/11/2019 21:24

How about panto tickets (or similar) if young DS is old enough?

marylou1977 · 10/11/2019 02:11

Thank you for the nice thoughts. I have ovca that’s now in the liver and lungs. In keeping with the thread, I would like warm fleecy socks, warm sweats and some warm hats. There is a theme here😜

AwkwardFucker · 10/11/2019 02:37

Plane tickets. Don’t care where. 😂

I have about as much chance as being hit by an asteroid, so on my realistic wish list, some Apple Watch wrist bands.

Dita73 · 10/11/2019 02:40

A Kindle

sam221 · 10/11/2019 03:25

Flowers for all those missing loved ones and others who are having a tough time.
In keeping with the thread, I would like some pillows-ones which are apparently completely elusive, as I require them to be plump but firm. Its my weird eternal hunt and I genuinely have tried pretty all places.
So if santa could bring me magic perfect pillows I would be super happy!
Maybe Op ask for Theatre tickets and you get them to throw in some babysitting too.
Just a quick heads up about asking for shop vouchers this year-some retail shops are not really performing so well and therefore vouchers could be risky.

Rubyupbeat · 10/11/2019 05:08

I want a Grandchild and Lego...so not much really!

PhilCornwall1 · 10/11/2019 05:18

I'm happy to receive anything that can be used up, e.g drinkable. I hate clutter and anything that can be used up, I don't have to worry about storing. Clothes are ok too, as I can sack off my old stuff that's been worn to death.

soundsystem · 10/11/2019 05:52

Mine may be fairly niche, but on my just is:

A particular Lego set
A pour over kettle for making V60s at home (currently on maternity leave)
Specific skincare stuff

I've been told I'm quite hard to buy for...

Witchinaditch · 10/11/2019 07:46

Expensive Skincare and hair products or a massage

Zooforhouse · 10/11/2019 07:56

When I was pregnant my in-laws bought me some maternity pyjamas. Would never have thought to ask for them/buy them (would have felt it was a waste of money), but BEST THING EVER. Wore them continuously for the rest of my pregnancy and a good few months after that.

Saying that I’m in a similar situation to you this year, and I don’t want anything either! (Although am looking forward to getting out the afore mentioned pyjamas this time round 😂).

JigsawsAreInPieces · 10/11/2019 08:05

A white fluffy dressing gown.
Bed socks.
Vouchers for glass (I'm a fused glass artist)
Luxury bubble bath and scented candles.

tealandteal · 10/11/2019 08:13

I asked for vouchers for my first post baby Christmas. DS was 6 months old so I had a day out after Christmas treating myself to lots of new things whilst DS stayed at home.

Blueshadow · 10/11/2019 08:15

I have a secret yearning for scalextric set. Some vouchers for clothes and some new boots would be great too.

SunshineAngel · 10/11/2019 08:16

Throughout the year I keep a list of books I fancy reading then at about this time I will give it to my mum and she will buy them for me for Christmas. She usually buys me loads of other stuff too that I really don't need - hanging on to when we were kids and she wanted us to have lots of things to open I think. I've told her not to as there's no point. If it weren't for the fact she insists on me telling her something I want, I'd get all of my books from the charity shop!
