To ask what you want for Christmas?

My DH and his extended large family are all seriously Christmas mad. Everyone makes long lists and buys each other lots of presents (not necessarily extravagant and expensive, just lots of things). I like giving presents but honestly could do without receiving them, I usually struggle to come up with a list and this year is harder as I'm pregnant so no alcohol and have a young DS so don't go out much, so don't need any new makeup or anything.
I've mentioned in previous years maybe not worrying about me, or maybe doing a secret Santa type thing, but they won't have it and just bug me for more things for my list.
So, after that very long intro, could I ask what people are wanting or hoping for for Christmas? I'm hoping to get some inspo for maybe stuff I haven't thought of (either for my list or to buy someone else)
Sorry I'm asking this so far ahead of Christmas, can't be helped with this family Grin

Not sure it'll help you but I want...

A new silver chain as mine broke a few months ago.
Some fake pink tulips - two bunches - to go in the lounge
A matching oven glove and tea towel set - bit sad but I dither about choosing so easier if someone else does it.
The new Bill Bryson novel
A really nice water bottle - because nicking the kids' ones doesn't look classy.
Plastic wine glasses - broke far too many glass ones outdoors this year.

I just want my metastatic cancer to go away. Really. (Missing the point of the thread.)

Sweetaholic · 09/11/2019 19:44

I don't normally make a list but you probably won't like my list. I would like a cordless screwdriver, work bench, good set of paintbrushes, circular saw and if I must have something for self some pyjamas and maybe a pair of leather gloves. I would prefer the DIY stuff though.

afternoonspray · 09/11/2019 19:46

I'd love:
a blue velvet jacket
a long dangly pendant
some new perfume (though have no idea which one)
a cake stand with a glass dome on it
a wetsuit
pogies (kayak gloves)
weight training gloves
boxing training gloves
I'd LOVE a speedball and boxing punchbag but it's on my list every year and ignored. Either they think it's unladylike or they don't want to see me punching the lights out of something, even if it is inanimate.
a cashmere long cardigan

A pair of monogram PJs. Getting old!

Croquembou · 09/11/2019 19:50

I always think slightly more expensive versions of things you buy yourself anyway are the nicest gifts so I've asked for Stance socks, a White Company bobble hat, Anthropologie scented candle, a dimmer switch (niche) and some new gym stuff.

midnightmisssuki · 09/11/2019 19:52

SW boots.

CuteOrangeElephant · 09/11/2019 19:52

The new Harry Potter Lego castle. I got the previous one last year and they can connect together to make one bigger castle.

HeyMicky · 09/11/2019 19:58

I travel for work so a handheld steamer would be really useful
Ditto new luggage

A Mason Pearson hairbrush
Decent sports bras
fancy wool socks
oxblood Cambridge satchel
Laneige lip mask

I’ve asked for a set of new white wine glasses as none of mine seem to currently match, a new card purse and new pyjamas.

MorrisZapp · 09/11/2019 20:09

Debbie Harry has an autobiography out. Can't think of many women over 40 who wouldn't love that.

isseywith4vampirecats · 09/11/2019 20:10

@QuiltingFlower so sorry makes my post look really trivial x

Shoppingwithmother · 09/11/2019 20:11

@QueenWhatevs

Which Lego Set do you want?

I am hoping for the new Technic Land Rover, and the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander.

Redspider1 · 09/11/2019 20:13

Really not bothered about presents. Probably the best thing to get me would be vouchers for Boots as I like expensive perfume but wouldn’t expect a bottle from anyone other than DH.

Redspider1 · 09/11/2019 20:14

Having just read Debbie Harry’s autobiography and being a fan, I was disappointed.

UterusesBeforeDuderuses · 09/11/2019 20:20

@QuiltingFlower so sorry to hear thatSadThanks
