I hated almost everything about both of my pregnancies but I did enjoy having the confidence to wear summer dresses for the first time in about 15 years because I looked pregnant not fat.

Disneycrazy · 09/11/2019 21:52

It being over 😂 I hated being pregnant, it was lovely feeling my babies kick I just didn’t enjoy the rest of it I had HG and group b strep through the first pregnancy and my second was ok up until 30 weeks when I got ill and pretty much spent my last 10 weeks in hospital 🙄 x

Sneezewitch · 09/11/2019 21:56

The dreamy feeling of starting to bond with your baby

Being cosy and smug

I found pregnancy hard going but can now admit there were some nice things about it. Still, the RELIEF when the placenta flopped out.

Crotchgoblins · 09/11/2019 22:30

Having beautiful skin and hair ( I'm normally plagued with acne)
The secret bit when only you and your partner know
Meeting new friends having babies at the same time.
The wonder of what your body is creating
Dreaming if what this little person will be like
Waiting to find out the babies sex until the birth and guessing
People are definitely nicer to you, it seems to bring out a little smile and reminiscence for ( some) people when they see your bump .
Toddler kissing your bump and talking about babies
Washing and folding tiny baby gros
Weirdly I sort of enjoyed giving birth but it's all very vague! It felt like a very primal experience, i am Glad i had the chance to do it. Oh and gas and air is great!

Sadly I don't think I enjoyed these moments at the time. I was too knackered and worrying about what was coming next ( birth complications/ coping with sleep deprivation) to just enjoy it.

Clevs · 09/11/2019 22:35

Eating what I liked without feeling guilty.
Sitting around doing nothing without feeling guilty.
The kicks and hiccups.
The excitement of scans and midwife appointments to hear the heartbeat.
Choosing a name.
Being on light duties at work but still getting paid my decent wage for what was essentially basic admin work.
Not having to work shifts.
Seeing my growing belly change week by week.

I loved being pregnant and would love to do it again but it's not going to happen unfortunately.

PrincessScarlett · 09/11/2019 22:38

Being able to travel first class on the train to work was absolutely wonderful.

Ilovethekitties · 09/11/2019 23:40

Thick hair, gorgeous skin, bigger orgasms!

And ofc feeling baby kicking and moving about, we can now see his hands pressing up against my belly which is very special.

Miljea · 10/11/2019 18:10

Anyone recall, in late pregnancy, when the baby stretched riiiiiiiight out, feet in your liver, head on your bladder? So, sitting on the sofa, suddenly you have to plank to accommodate this new development? 😂

Mouseinfestedhovel · 10/11/2019 18:13

People are nicer to you when your pregnant

Feeling the baby move

That closeness with the baby

showmewhatyougot · 10/11/2019 18:25

Naps!

Slightlysurviving · 10/11/2019 19:05

HG here twice so it was pretty rubbish. infact, totally awfully physically and I looked like death from a day before my period was due. For me the best thing about babies and pregnancy is what it does for a family. In my personal experience it's something of great joy and excitement for all. That's rather lovley.

DankGraveGhouls · 10/11/2019 19:12

Completely wild sex. Honestly if they could bottle those hormones it would prevent wars because people would be too busy fucking.

minipie · 10/11/2019 19:18

The fact you could be sitting on the sofa doing nothing, but you’re still achieving something amazing.

Seeing my body look and feel completely different from ever before. And the movements. Weird but amazing and fascinating.

I think I missed out on the pregnancy sex drive! I had bleeds and was too worried to enjoy sex.

SparkyBlue · 10/11/2019 19:22

I think for me it was the guilt free eating. I was very sick all the way through but then I'd be starving and need to eat about 10 crispy pancakes and a cream cake. Also I loved the chats with randomers about the pregnancy and shopping for baby stuff.

Courtney555 · 10/11/2019 19:24

With DS, the excitement, the watching my body change, the everything being new, the nursery, the kicks, the tiny clothes, the scans.

Ten years on. With twins. The best part will be getting these two painful-8-arms-and-legs-constantly-fucking-kicking-tearing-my-rib-tissue-can't-eat-can't-sleep-can't-breathe-always-sweating-horrendous-heartburn-causing little bastards darlings out of me Grin

EnglishRose13 · 10/11/2019 19:56

The only bit I even came close to enjoying was the excitement before labour.

I hated every single second otherwise.

JasonPollack · 10/11/2019 20:39

Definitely being spoilt by DH, generally getting to be a demanding cow & people still being nice to me Grin

ASundayWellSpent · 10/11/2019 20:53

So many! Not having to suck your tummy in all day, having a little break from work each time you wee... Picking out impossibly small clothes and realising there will soon be a little baby that small in your arms. Feeling zero pressure to diet or watch your weight. Knowing what time of the evening your baby normally wakes up and be able to have a little moment to yourselves... Not wearing heels. Lucious hair. Great skin. Could go on haha!

20viona · 10/11/2019 20:55

My skin was amazing when I was pregnant. Feeling the baby kick, everyone around me treated me like royalty I could do no wrong because I was pregnant 😂

ELM8 · 10/11/2019 21:16

Ohhhh I forgot about not wearing heels! Such a good one! Wearing leggings outside of the house as well...

Basketofkittens · 10/11/2019 21:34

The baby on board badge!

Izzwizzo · 10/11/2019 21:54

Eating all the cake
That early morning wake up when they wriggle and kick and you are both just lying there feeling so close to your baby
Telling family. We had five years of IVF and my parents have no other grandchildren. Their joy when we told them and showed them the 12 week scan photos will stay with me forever.
When they are born and after 9 months of waiting to meet them, you look at them and think I know you already. That bit is great
People are really kind and it’s lovely when they are

greeneyedlulu · 10/11/2019 22:03

Feeling the baby move and having a valid reason for not holding my belly in Grin
Down side was indigestion

PapayaCoconut · 10/11/2019 22:09

I'm so pretty when I'm pregnant - all thick, golden hair and rosy cheeks! (But the beautiful baby is totally worth the thin hair and pale, tired face after!)

PapayaCoconut · 10/11/2019 22:11

Obviously when they're born is the best bit, but your no longer pregnant by then! ☺️

Seeing your newborn baby for the first time is the most beautiful moment of your life.
