to have the rage over that Walkers Mariah Carey ad?

FFS. It's the start of Novermber and I have to bear Ms Carey with her plastic face warbling about what she wants for Christmas just as she has done since 1992. Her acting is atrocious. She has about one line and can't even deliver that convincingly, probably because her face won't move. The song is shite and who wants fucking brussels sprouts flavoured crisps anyway?

Fuck off Mariah and bring back Gary.

That is a woman who has clearly never held or eaten a crisp.

supercee · 09/11/2019 12:21

@plantainchips you are having a go at the OP bashing a woman and being nasty and then you end your post with 'guarantee she looks better than you'.

OtraCosaMariposa · 09/11/2019 12:32

Her looks are just a very minor part of my irritation. The song, the whole premise of the ad, the acting and the general shite-ness of it all is far more irritating.

Also I don;t buy into the idea that just because something is done by a woman or features a woman the rest of us all have to support her no matter what.

A woman’s appearance is an irritation to you?! Geez. You focus on that a lost in ur OP. stop being so bitter.

DontCallMeShitley · 09/11/2019 12:33

plaintainchips, did someone piss on your crisps?

RandomlyChosenName · 09/11/2019 12:36

She clearly hates crisps! It’s one of the worst adverts ever.

Nearly as irritating as “I didn’t know oral b made toothpaste...”

Phoebesfleas · 09/11/2019 12:36

Not usually a huge fan of her or her music but I love the advert, she is quite clearly sending herself up and surgery or not she looks fantastic. I suspect she plays up to her diva reputation.

Lyingtwat · 09/11/2019 12:38

I think she looks amazing but she definitely doesnt look like shes never eaten crisps, shes never been skinny and shes never been fat, she has a curvy (not fat!) Figure since day one and I wish I looked that good

OtraCosaMariposa · 09/11/2019 12:39

Nearly. But that woman takes the prize for being the most annoying ever. Hands down. Also in contention is condescending Trivago woman, the "Just Eat" singers and Mr Go Compare, who should have been pensioned off years ago.

Looobyloo · 09/11/2019 12:40

I like it. I love the song and the fact that she's sending herself up as the diva she's known to be.

I think it's good - she's got a reputation for being "difficult" - and it plays on that.

I love the tiny insincere bite of the crisp.

HeavyChopping · 09/11/2019 12:45

Love it.

JeSuisPrest · 09/11/2019 12:47

It's the continuity error of the disappearing/reappearing rings that gets on my nerves.

OtraCosaMariposa · 09/11/2019 12:49

Is there a difference between being difficult, and having a reputation for being difficult?

I'd be mortified if I had a reputation for being difficult, I wouldn't be wanting to play up to that. Although she's probably rich enough not to give a shit. Which raises the question why she's flogging crisps in the first place.

OP posts:
GabsAlot · 09/11/2019 12:50

Its fine up until the inconving bite of the crisp she wants them so badly she takes them off the lowly elf and then looks like she wont even put it in her mouth

category12 · 09/11/2019 12:53

Well why does DeNiro advertise Warburtons? I can't imagine he's short of cash either.

Is there a difference between being difficult, and having a reputation for being difficult?
Yes, obviously Hmm. One is true and one could be a fabrication. There's nothing the media likes better than painting famous women as assholes. Maybe she is, maybe she ain't. At least she apparently has a sense of humour about her reputation.

maddiemookins16mum · 09/11/2019 12:57

It’s so bad it’s good.

megletthesecond · 09/11/2019 12:59

The ring error annoys me. The whole advert was clearly filmed separately. They should have got Gary in there too.

Other than that Mariah can do no wrong. her MTV cribs was fab.

Lotus90 · 09/11/2019 13:05

She can't even bring herself to bite the crisp at the end

Babybel90 · 09/11/2019 13:12

I love it, I think it’s hilarious when famous people make fun of themselves, it almost makes them seem human Grin

Maybe she's like me and doesn't actually like crisps? My DH loves them and always tries to share them with me and to be polite I take a tiny broken bit. And yes he does think I'm weird. And I bought him a big bag of (not Walkers) black truffle flavoured crisps for his birthday. (£1.99 in TKMaxx) He liked them of course. I thought they were extra vile!!!

Wizzbangpop · 09/11/2019 13:38

What gets me about the ad is who wants to eat Brussel sprout crisps?

I'd love to know how much she was paid for doing the ad

Pinkarsedfly · 09/11/2019 13:42

Hm, is this thread going to get pulled too?
