Anyone else up to something they shouldn't be?

I'm laying in bed in my dressing gown on mumsnet. I have my laptop on the bed with the sound turned up so I hear if anyone instant messages or Skype calls me! It's really not in keeping with the company culture to skive off like this!

I SHOULD be working from home, sat in my office dealing with a load of work. I should be at minimum dressed before the kids get home!

ANYONE else want to confess to being up to something you shouldn't be?! If so, what and what should you be doing!?

Another one here....I should be working from home, I haven't even turned the laptop on. (Do have my phone if anything REALLY needs doing)

I slept until 11, then Ive literally just laid on the sofa all day.

Going to have to get dressed and do the school run though.

SureTry · 08/11/2019 14:53

I'm searching for yet another wedding dress, I've bought 6 so far, I can't stop myself Blush. It's my second time, I'm an older bride and I can't seem to narrow down what I should wear.

AnneKipanki · 08/11/2019 14:59

@SureTry , model them on Style and Beauty thread . They will help you !

shouldntBeButIAm · 08/11/2019 15:02

Husband has gone on the school run. I'm contemplating whether I have the energy to shower and get dressed before they get back.

Still no work done!

Thanks Anne I'll do that Smile

Yarboosucks · 08/11/2019 15:05

I am supposed to be revising my CV for a new job that I want, but the dog needs to be stroked, there is MN and internet shopping!

SunshineAngel · 08/11/2019 15:08

I'm self employed, and I got up at 11.30 this morning (after working until 4.30 to be fair), went and did the food shopping, did two hours of work, and have now called it a day! It's Friday. I COULD take on some more work, but you know what, I just want an evening with my partner, and earning a little less this week won't kill me.

historysock · 08/11/2019 15:10

I'm at work but have decided it will be a fun day for everyone instead of normal stuff. I've said minimum paperwork for everyone and we have just come back from taking the service users out for an imromptu pub lunch.
It's appraisal time of year and I am so bored of it that I thought I'd have a day off from it and do something nice with my team and the people we look after instead. Doesn't feel like work when we have a day like this.
And I expensed all the staff lunches as well Smile

MikeUniformMike · 08/11/2019 15:10

yes

confusedandemployed · 08/11/2019 15:11

Doing exactly the same as you OP, with a hangover and Kingsman on Netflix thrown in.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 08/11/2019 15:13

Still morning here and a work meeting has been cancelled so I'm still loafing about on MN instead of loading the dishwasher and then going into the office.

I bill hourly so it's not a problem to start work later but I should tidy up the kitchen...cba.

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 08/11/2019 15:14

I've got DH's man flu. It's actually quite a bad one - I feel a bit guilty for being unsympathetic to him.

I'm supposed to be doing housework and sorting out the several washloads of towels and bedding that have somehow accumulated in the junk spare room.

In reality I'm sitting with my feet up in the recliner binge watching Peaky Blinders and drinking tea.

Happy Friday!

ChocolateWillies · 08/11/2019 15:17

I should be working at home. Instead, I took my dog to the vets this morning and now I am mainly MNing, vaguely editing a document (should've taken me half hour, has taken me five), and looking into selling old smelly shoes to foot fetish perverts online.

I'm also counting down to wine time

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 08/11/2019 15:17

@Zoidbergonthehalfshell

Totally justifiable, bucket loads of tea is the only known cure for man flu (IMO) and you can't fold bedding and drink tea at the same time....well, you could, but sitting in a recliner is safer, you might spill the tea otherwise.

Coolwinter · 08/11/2019 15:20

Looking after special needs child. He’s asking repetitive questions. I’m trying to work but my work is

So tedious!

Sigh...

cleanasawhistle · 08/11/2019 15:22

I could have been like this today but unfortunately Friday is my cleaning day. I have actually done some extra chores so tomorrow I can sit and do nothing .

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 08/11/2019 15:22

@AmICrazyorWhat2 I knew somebody would understand.

Cheers! Brew

lazylinguist · 08/11/2019 15:25

MNing in the armchair with a Mars ice cream bar when I should be doing housework or walking the dog. In my defense, I have done 3 hours of teaching, an hour of studying, one dog walk and a couple of loads of washing today, so I guess I'm not doing too badly!

Nomorewine77 · 08/11/2019 15:27

Should be working, instead I have binge watched Spartacus on Netflix, eaten my body weight in Baklava whilst still in my pajamas and in bed! Must tear myself away as DS's back from school any minute now...

imnottoofussed · 08/11/2019 15:34

Meee, I'm at work but have had nothing to do since approx 9:30 am, my next task has to be done at 4pm. The colleague who was in my office finishes mid afternoon so I'm now on my own. (Other colleagues are upstairs and I can hear when they come down). So far I've browsed the internet, listened to some music, read about 50% of my book and done 5 minutes of yoga. I am bored to death. Roll on home time.

IDrinkAndISewThings · 08/11/2019 15:37

@FiveGoMadInDorset you know the rules - no mentioning new kittens without photos please!

girlwithadragontattoo · 08/11/2019 15:37

Same lol

SittHakim · 08/11/2019 15:41

I should be working, but my brain is broken and I'm sitting around MNing instead. In my defence, I've done stupid numbers of extra hours in September and October, and now the pressure's off I'm knackered and having a bit of a crash.

cheesenpickles · 08/11/2019 15:45

Hiding in the conservatory, chain vaping and pretending in doing laundry after collecting the kids. I've got some work bits I reeeeeally need to finish off tonight but part of me is like meh. I'll do it Monday.

MarianaMoatedGrange · 08/11/2019 15:48

Yes! very careless MNing there.
