Who’s in the right?

We have 2 children who get up anywhere between 5.30 and 6.30ish.

Parent A gets up for work at 5.20 four times a week
Parent B gets the children to nursery for 7.30/7.45 on those mornings

Parent A gets the child up and the eldest to school on their week day ‘off’

Parent A thinks a lie in each at the weekend is fair
Parent B thinks they should get both lie ins at weekend as they deal with getting the kids up more during the week.

Who would you agree with?

both should get a lie in. One each

Parent A

OwlinaTree · 02/11/2019 08:41

Lie in each.

LandMoor · 02/11/2019 08:41

Parent A definetly

Drivemecrazy1974 · 02/11/2019 08:41

Parent A - one person getting both lie-ins is just totally unfair.

marriednotdead · 02/11/2019 08:43

A. If you both lie in then someone will always be first up when the kids need something and you will end up with a different dispute!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/11/2019 08:43

Parent A is right, they're still having to get up early for work so both parents deserve a lie in each.

Summercamping · 02/11/2019 08:43

A

Dogsaresomucheasier · 02/11/2019 08:43

Probably parent A but I’m confused when you say children in one sentence and eldest child in another. Is parent A dealing with ALL the children that morning and giving parent B a real break or taking the piss a bit?

ScreamingCosArgosHaveNoRavens · 02/11/2019 08:44

What time does parent B get up in the week?

itbemay1 · 02/11/2019 08:45

A - Smile sharing is caring

Thehop · 02/11/2019 08:45

One each surely?

OrangeSlices998 · 02/11/2019 08:46

One each. It’s kind and fair. Neither is having a lovely lie in any other day! I feel like your DP/DH is parent B and thinks they deserve both lie ins, meaning parent A (you) never get one!

relax2 · 02/11/2019 08:46

Lie in each

Norma27 · 02/11/2019 08:47

One lie in each.

PrettyPurse · 02/11/2019 08:49

So does Parent A get up that early because the children get up or because of work?

If the children are up at 5.30am what is Parent B doing? Do they stay in bed and leave it all to Parent A?

Teachermaths · 02/11/2019 08:52

One each.

Weekday wakings are determined by circumstances. Weekends are a choice.

LoopyLou1981 · 02/11/2019 08:53

Both children are taken to nursery/school on the 4 days
On A’s day off eldest child goes to school and youngest is looked after at home.
Sorry, I really confused that!

parent a

BarrenFieldofFucks · 02/11/2019 08:53

One each. Definitely. The lie in isn't just to do with the kids, but catching up on sleep!

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 02/11/2019 08:53

Parent A. Why is B moaning they have to parent?

LoopyLou1981 · 02/11/2019 08:55

Thanks all.
And, yes, I’m parent A.
It’s causing a weekly row 🙄

Dogsaresomucheasier · 02/11/2019 08:56

Okay, but which parent is doing that looking after of younger child, especially early morning looking after while A and B are home?

Teensruletheroost · 02/11/2019 08:57

Yes parent A

Reallynowdear · 02/11/2019 09:00

One lie in each
