AIBU to have a problem with DH's smelly feet?

He's had his Crocs (I know) on all day and his feet stink. He wears them when he gets home from work and if he sits next to me I can smell his feet and I usually say something. I try to be light-hearted but get the message across. This evening his feet really stank. You could see the dirt on them from the sweat and he wiped it off with a baby wipe. The smell continued. I told him I could still smell his feet and he said "you can't, I've just washed them". His Crocs were still in the room so he put them in the kitchen. We sat and watched tv and I could still smell his feet but said nothing. I went into the kitchen later and the smell was disgusting. His Crocs were in front of the sink. I said you'll have to do something about this, and he got annoyed and asked me to stop going on about it. He said he wiped the Crocs with a baby wipe, there's nothing more he can do and I should stop complaining. Should I just put up with this? Or his he BU to expect me to?

Urgh. Rank!!!!

MonsterMashedSpud · 27/10/2019 01:14

The dirty git needs to wash his dirty feet with soap and water and hose down/disinfect/burn his crocs.

Baby wipes indeed 🤢🤮

FlashesOfRage · 27/10/2019 01:15

He’s being a lazy twat.

I wear flat shoes with no socks as I just find them comfy.
I also know that the shoes and consequently my feet will get stinky from this arrangement after I’ve had the shoes about two weeks lol.
I know this so when I wear shoes that will leave me with stinky feet the first thing I do when I get home is wash my feet in the shower with soap.

It’s not rocket science and fundamentally he isn’t embarrassed enough or bothered enough about how you feel to care.

EugenesAxe · 27/10/2019 01:21

😂 Never seen a 100% before. No this is gross; I have the same problem. They fucking reek. If you told him the fact he happily co-exists with that smell put you off sex with him, I’d bet he’d redress it.

Aquamarine1029 · 27/10/2019 01:23

That is utterly vile. Crocs make feet absolutely reek, and your husband is an idiot. I would be tossing them in the bin.

ActualHornist · 27/10/2019 01:29

YANBU.

I do what @FlashesOfRage does. No one is immune to even their own smelly feet - tell him he stinks and to either wash his feet - and the Crocs! - every day as you can't take it.

He could literally get in the shower with them on and wash them at the same time (I do this when I've been wearing flip flops) the lazy bugger.

ViciousJackdaw · 27/10/2019 01:31

Lazy sod. All that's needed is a bucket, hot water and a capful of Dettol. Soak Crocs overnight, dry with towel in morning. I do this with the Adilettes I wear around the house, works a treat.

Just a thought though, is he washing AND drying his feet thoroughly? Any skin conditions? The Crocs could be as clean as a whistle but that's no good if the feet aren't clean and healthy. I second EugenesAxe (careful with that!) - a sex veto may well sort things out.

Moonagedaydreem · 27/10/2019 01:43

Thanks everyone, relieved to know I'm not BU. He is a lazy sod. As I left the room I told him he has no respect for me and he didn't respond, which upset me. 10 minutes later he got in the shower. I'll suggest the Dettol tip tomorrow, thanks for that.

I feel sorry for your husband, and you are a bit snow flakey moaning about this. you should have got a bowl of nice hot soapy water, for him, to soak his feet in, and then washed the crocs as well..

Moonagedaydreem · 27/10/2019 01:57

1forAll74 erm...fuck that! I'm not washing his Crocs for him! Or fetching him a nice bowl of soapy water! He's a lazy twat, he should do it himself.

Likethebattle · 27/10/2019 01:07

@1forAll74 I hope that’s a joke. The OP isn’t living in biblical times washing folks feet ffs! Should she be on her hands and knees washing his feet for him?

BritishHorrorStory · 27/10/2019 01:45

I hope your post was either you trying to be funny and sarcastic or you were drunk on some very nice alcohol when you wrote it. Otherwise.. what?

HypatiaCade · 27/10/2019 02:56

Of course @1forAll74 was having a joke! Because that's how ridiculous the whole situation is. Your DH is acting like a spoilt brat, OP.

commanderdalgliesh · 27/10/2019 03:06

Put the crocs in the bin.

violetbunny · 27/10/2019 03:09

Are you sure he doesn't have some kind of fungal infection if they're that vile?

WinkysTeatowel · 27/10/2019 03:15

He needs some Hibiscrub to wash his feet

Weenurse · 27/10/2019 03:29

Tell him to either throw them out or into the washing machine.

PhilCornwall1 · 27/10/2019 05:38

I got to the 4th word in on your post OP and decided he was being unreasonable. Crocs indeed!!! Shock

OooErMissus · 27/10/2019 05:53

OMG that is beyond grim.

@1forAll74 is doing that thing where people try to be goady by doing the Stepford wife thing, knowing it winds people up, because no actual person in 2019 thinks like that.

OooErMissus · 27/10/2019 05:54

And you are being completely unreasonable for not just taking matters into your own hands and destroying the crocs.

No court in the land would convict you.

🤢

namechange122222 · 27/10/2019 06:07

Tell him it’s the Crocs or you.

yearinyearout · 27/10/2019 06:38

Wiping the crocs out with some surgical spirit should get rid of the smell if washing them doesn't work. He really needs to shower and scrub his feet as well tho, dirty git.

tentedthings · 27/10/2019 06:42

Put his crocs in the dishwasher, it washes them really well.

FluffyAlpaca19 · 27/10/2019 06:45

He needs to soak his crocs in bleach for an hour then rinse them out & leave them to air dry. You can get a special scholl shoe spray to deodarise the crocs in between washes. But he'll need to wipe them with anti bac wipes not baby wipes.

OooErMissus · 27/10/2019 06:45

Only if you never intend to use the dishwasher for its usual purpose ever again.

🤢

Better option - burn the crocs.
