Does anyone have a Nissan Juke?

I have one coming my way tomorrow, just wandering what it’s like for fuel and stuff. I drive around 400 miles a week. It’s a 1.6 petrol. Also, what’s it like to drive? I know they are small, but space isn’t an issue as it’s just me and my daughter atm. When baby is born I probably won’t bother with a pram as i didn’t with daughter.

We have two in our house! I like mine a lot, I do loads of mileage as it’s a work car and I’m field based and it’s comfortable and roomy enough to carry lots of work stuff on it. Recently drive to airport with 2 adults, a child and four cases so no space issues. Mines diesel so can’t help with fuel efficiency.

Ugly as sin but I don't notice that when I'm driving . Mine is a 1.2 with the sport boost (it can fairly shift itself) I use the Eco setting round town .fuel economy good . It is small inside my 5'11 ds feels cramped if he has to sit in the back. But mainly it's just me driving with either dh or dd . Mine has the reverse mirror which is a boon it's quite high . Nice compact motor. What made you choose the Juke?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 25/10/2019 17:03

Totally agree marchez different people will have totally different experiences with every brand. I once bought a golf expecting to love it as so many people I knew loved theirs but I didn’t get on with it at all. I’m only 5’3 and the Juke is great for me but I imagine a tall person would struggle

Weepingwillows12 · 25/10/2019 17:08

I got one once as a loan car for a week and hated it. Felt horrible to drive. I didnt think the girl efficiency was great versus other cars either. But each to their own. Too late for you if it's already coming tomorrow.

Weepingwillows12 · 25/10/2019 17:09

Fuel not girl....

gingerscot · 25/10/2019 17:11

I’m on my third, diesel though. Love, love, love it. Everyone who has driven it has said how lovely it is to drive. Her name is Daisy and I’ll be very sad when I have to let her go.

MonstranceClock · 25/10/2019 17:12

It’s a gift, I didn’t have a choice in the car. It will be marginally better than what I have now in any case!

I test drove one and got a Mazda cx3 instead. A bit late to ask now though? Are you hiring it?

Far2go46 · 25/10/2019 17:15

No Smile

Expressedways · 25/10/2019 17:16

My MIL has one and it’s not great. One main issue we found was that it’s really difficult to fit an infant carseat with the seatbelt as the belt is bizarrely short. I’ve never encountered that in any other car, even ones that are smaller. I suppose if it’s your car you can use isofix though. I don’t know what engine she has but hers is pretty sluggish. I hope you like it as it sounds too late to change your mind!

MonstranceClock · 25/10/2019 17:21

My car is 500 years old and held together with tape so even if it’s really shit it will still be better Grin

The thought of buying something made by shiftless bastards from wearyside is terrifying.

MonstranceClock · 25/10/2019 17:25

What do you mean?

Justgivemesomepeace · 25/10/2019 17:29

I had one. I loved it but it was way too small for 2 kids. No matter how far forward i pushed the front seat, DS could kick and pull the hair of the person in front. (He was only about 12 mths old). I couldnt fit his buggy and the shopping in the boot so some had to ho kn the back seat with him and he would get in it. People used to get carsick in the back for some reason aswell.
I swapped it for a qashqai which is great.
If it was just for me I would have kept it.

Suze1621 · 25/10/2019 17:37

I had one until recently and loved it. Liked the high seating position and good visibility, easy to drive and I found it quite nippy. Ok on fuel and for insurance. Regularly carried children in various combinations of baby carrier, car seat and high back booster without any problems. Good boit space for a smaller car and could manage buggy and shopping when boot floor taken out. Only minor irritation for me were the plastic clips for the rear parcel shelf which were fiddly to put back whenever I had to remove it.

MonstranceClock · 25/10/2019 17:44

I have diesel atm, usually I do not enjoy driving petrol cars. Oh well we will see. It will be nice to have a car with heating and radio though.

The back seats are tiny and really claustrophobic. Nightmare to get a car seat in or out of or get a child in to a fixed seat. Also really underpowered. Had one on loan for a week and I couldn’t wait to get rid.

littleducks · 25/10/2019 18:06

I hired one. Reverse tardis.
Kids felt sick in back seats.

Haggisbasher · 25/10/2019 18:06

I have a 2016 nismo rs version, drives fine, gutsy on fuel though but quick. Handles ok, boot is small but I don't need a big boot, but it's big enough for a family shop. Have to say I quite like the driving position and all the gadgets are worth playing with.

furrybadger · 25/10/2019 18:07

I had a few through work scheme, they aren’t great on petrol tbh but I did like it to drive, funky little cars I’ve got a Kuga now would definitely get a juke again 😊

ActualHornist · 25/10/2019 18:08

I don’t own one but I had one as a hire car once.

I thought it was fine. It felt bigger that I expected, presumably because it’s a small SUV not a hatchback.

It was expensive on fuel from what I remember. Boot was a decent size.

wonderstuff · 25/10/2019 18:10

I've had one on hire for a few weeks, nice drive, comfy, visibility a bit poor, really annoying boot that often takes several attempts to shut, which put me off buying one.

Pimmsypimms · 25/10/2019 18:20

Glad I read this thread as was thinking about buying one but won't be now, thanks Smile

Princess28 · 25/10/2019 18:36

I love mine (also called Daisy!) I needed something that was high off the ground (localised flooding whenever it rains) but didn’t want the expense of a 4 x 4. My old car was also on its last legs so this will feel amazing! Reversing cameras took a while to get used to but petrol costs are low (£40 to fill up from empty- lasts about 350 miles) Also love that even though it’s 2012 it connects to my phone for charging/music and it has built in sat nav and hands free calling.
