DD didn’t have a lot of hair for a long time. But once it started growing properly she ended up with tight corkscrew curls and has one crazy hairdo. Its fabulous but I have literally no idea where she’s got it from 😂

Im surprised at how different mine are. DS1 is quiet, studious and very unconfident.

DS2 is loud, energetic and totally fearless.

bibot · 25/10/2019 17:24

How different they all look from each other!
Ds1 is a tiny, bird boned, blonde thing.
Ds2 is tall and sturdy and has gorgeous brown curls. People often think he's older than ds1
Dd is a redhead and although she was a tiny baby like ds1 she just keeps stretching and has turned out tall and skinny.
They all have the same gorgeous big blue eyes though.

I'm pregnant with number 4 and I'm not even trying to guess what this one is going to look like Grin

Sb20162019 · 25/10/2019 17:32

My daughter is 3 soon and her memory surprised me.. She remembers squishing a worm and talks about it all the time... This happened almost a year ago and how much she eats!!! She eats more than me most days

DuchessAnnogovia · 25/10/2019 17:34

Just how good looking both are! DD30 and DS21 both model between their day jobs. No idea where they get it from I'm short and round and as I get older I'm looking more like Attila the Mum (DM) it scares me. Both are extremely good at mathematics - I'm absolutely dire at it. My DSs musical taste surprised me the other day. He's into R&B and whatever stuff they play today, but when Night Fever - Bee Gees came on the radio he turned it up, said he loved the song, and proceeded to sing along. He knew all the words Grin

ChilledBee · 25/10/2019 17:38

When my 2 boys were babies/toddling, I thought my adopted son (5 months younger) was sort of... independent and introverted almost because he knew I wasnt his "real" mum. My conceived son was much more like me and liked my comfort etc.

Then I had my daughter and she is soooooo much like my younger son. She's not snuggly and likes time alone. It really helped me feel more secure that my younger son is secure.

FilthyforFirth · 25/10/2019 17:42

Not a stealth boast at all, but how beautiful DS 2 is. We are regularly stopped in the street etc. DH and I both very plain. No idea where it has come from. He also has very curly hair whilst DH and I very straight. He looks like neither of us obviously!

Ginandgingers92 · 25/10/2019 17:43

Mines a redhead! Came out of nowhere 😂🙈

Ohyesiam · 25/10/2019 17:45

One of the most surprising things to me I s how their personalities are so well formed from the moment they are born.
I thought they were more of a blank canvas.

Amiable · 25/10/2019 17:49

Ohyesiam - I was going to say that!

I am in awe of my kids for so many things. DS (9) is fab with anything electronic and has an amazing singing voice. DD(13) is an amazing artist and so mature for her age, some of the things she says stop me in my tracks!

Rainatnight · 25/10/2019 17:50

Ours are adopted, so it’s all a complete surprise!

SingingSands · 25/10/2019 17:52

I was surprised that none of mine were red-heads. I'd thought that with my mum and husband both being red that my kids would have inherited the colouring. I'd have loved them to be red haired Smile

Mrsfrumble · 25/10/2019 17:56

DS’s red hair and green eyes. The hair is the colour of a brand new copper penny, eyes are a dark, stormy green. DH and DD have very dark brown hair and brown eyes. I have mousy brown hair and blue eyes. No other redheads on either side of the family Confused

I’m not complaining because he’s bloody gorgeous!

SlackerMum1 · 25/10/2019 18:00

@Ohyesiam totally agree! I assume it was just what babies did but the older DD gets the more I can see that it was her personality all along. She just does not and will not do anything she doesn’t see the point in, and hasn’t right from day one!

Also how fast nails grow. When DD is having a growth spurt I have to trim them every 2-3 days to prevent claws... who new 🤷‍♀️

ActualHornist · 25/10/2019 18:03

I have identical twin boys. They’re nearly 11.

I’m still surprised when they don’t like the same things, or one is better than the other at something. Which I know is ridiculous, but I just can’t help it!

ragged · 25/10/2019 18:04

Just how different they are from each other. In personality I mean. I thought I raised them all the same. Confused

startingtoday · 25/10/2019 18:22

That my kids now actually like each other!!! Very supportive of each other , a joy to see! Only took about 25 years Hmm

Xmasbaby11 · 25/10/2019 18:25

Same as you op - no real hair til 3 then a mop of blonde ringlets. Dh and i have straight hair. It's cute but i have no idea how to deal with curls!

riotlady · 25/10/2019 18:27

She’s only 19 months but she’s weirdly good at kicking a ball around? Partner and I are not sporty in the slightest

Mintjulia · 25/10/2019 18:31

His pickiness over food.

When I was a kid, I was always hungry and would eat just about anything. Ds is such a fusspot.

FarTooMuchWashing · 25/10/2019 18:34

That both DC are really musical and incredibly sporty.
I am neither, despite trying. I am a bookworm.

SlackerMum1 · 25/10/2019 18:36

@Xmasbaby11 me neither! I condition and brush a couple of times a week but no idea if that’s right thing to do. The only good thing is that it’s so curly even tho it’s quite long now it doesn’t hang down. So it doesn’t need ‘styling my and she’s never actually had a hair cut 😂

OP posts:
Xmasbaby11 · 25/10/2019 18:42

My dd is 7 and her curly hair is long now but we get it trimmed every couple of months as it's wild! I can only brush it when conditioner is on. Can't even comb it in between washes!

LucileDuplessis · 25/10/2019 18:55

Totally agree about the 'blank canvas' thing. I thought I would have more influence on them!

VanillaSmile · 25/10/2019 19:02

That she’s a carbon copy of my husband. We thought she’d be a mini me but she’s got his light hair, blue eyes and his lighter skin tone.
