To take a pregnancy test at 10 weeks?

Supposedly I’m 10 weeks pregnant. I took several pregnancy tests back around 4-5 weeks which all came up as very clear positives. I still have them all in the bathroom cabinet and I definitely didn’t imagine them.

Yet since then I’ve had no symptoms at all - no sickness, no weight gain, nothing! And there are honestly moments when I doubt it and wonder if there can really be a baby there.

My scan isn’t until 13 weeks. I was thinking about doing another pregnancy test just to reassure myself. I can’t find very much information about doing them at this stage but there is some mention on boards like this of them sometimes not being able to deal with the very high levels of HCG present later on and possibly giving misleading results?

What do you think? Would it be a really stupid idea? Anyone tried it?

@Jellybeansincognito There is actually scientific evidence that the more severe the morning sickness is, the more likely it is to be a girl

Take it with a pinch of salt @HungryForApples

The same article says this:
Signs You Might be Carrying a Boy

You’re living with baby’s dad. Couples who live together are more likely to have boys than single moms. One study that looked at 86,000 children born in the U.S. between 1959 and 1998 found that boys were born to 51.5 percent of women who lived with a partner before they conceived, compared to 49.9 percent of women who did not.
🙄.

I’d like to see the actual study though.

I took a test probably around 10 weeks as well to make sure I was still pregnant for no reason other than I was doubting myself!

I’d like to see the actual study though

I tried to link to them but they're all behind the Lancet paywall

Some people are lucky enough to sail through pregnancy with no symptoms at all, apart from weight gain later on obviously, OP. From the sounds of it you are most definitely pregnant. Congratulations Smile Flowers

I didnt have any symptoms with both my pregnancies

Verily1 · 24/10/2019 12:00

I didn’t get symptoms

IWillJustKeepQuietThen · 24/10/2019 12:02

I'm 27w today and have had no symptoms at all. Even now apart from a bump and kicks. That's the only way I feel pregnant

However is was very paranoid in the early days and had a few early scans.. If I didn't I'd of driven myself into a nervous wreck. Best thing i did.

Twinkletoenails · 24/10/2019 12:34

I had horrendous morning (all day) sickness with all 3 pregnancies. All boys.

But, in answer to your original post, take another test and have a scan if it puts your mind at rest. Peace of mind is worth everything!
