Hi, I’m a older mum and would like some to ask younger mums with teenage boys a question.

My friend tells me that it’s the norm now for 15 year olds to smoke weed in the garage with their friends and have their girlfriends stay over in their beds. Am I totally out of touch with the world or is this not the norm at all.

Would really appreciate any replies.

No no no no no! I'm 34, my twins are 14 therefore I consider myself a young cool and trendy mum (the fact that I've just used those words completely invalidates that I am, but...)!
No! Mine are certainly not allowed to smoke weed! Anywhere! No alcohol! They're not allowed to have people of the opposite gender stay over, let alone sleep in the same bed!

I'm probably an overbearing helicopter mum. My best friend at school when I was 13 was kidnapped, raped and murdered, so that's always been carried with me. My children aren't even allowed to play out alone, walk to school alone etc. But no, what you're asking isn't the norm. You are the parent and what you say is the norm for your children will be their norm irregardless if there are some haphazard/lazy/uncaring too cool parents out there who would allow those things.
