I feel so fed up with buying bras!! I'm a 36E but sort of a teardrop shaped boob. Have bought from Anne summers, M&S before. Other places that I can't remember. Currently have no nice bras that don't dig into me. I'm quite curvy, perhaps I need a bigger back size I don't know!
Please help mumsnetters. Where is a good place to get properly, accurately sized and get decent comfortable pretty bras from?

Simply Be!!!

Best bra ever and I am a 42 e!

TheFurminator · 23/10/2019 19:33

another vote for Bravisimmo! Their bras make me look perky. I am so very not perky. No padding even, and I always thought I needed padded bras to give me 'shape' - turns out they look better without if in the right bloody size. Go and get a fitting (remortgage house first though, they ain't cheap sadly).

Oblomov19 · 23/10/2019 19:38

Bravissimo. Went down in the back and up in the cup, which is their standard, many years ago. Comfy ever since.

pinksquash13 · 23/10/2019 19:39

Do not go to M&S! I really rate freya bras. I love the moulded cup plunge one. I buy in debehams or house of fraser.

Jolonglegs · 23/10/2019 19:40

Check out the Brastop web site re fit. If that doesn't help, then Bravissimo is best for having a fitting, assuming there is one local.
I find bras a real pain so you're not alone!

LakieLady · 23/10/2019 19:48

John Lewis have the best bra fitters (but I speak as one who has never set foot in Rigby and Peller!). For brands, I like Fantasie (especially the "Bronte" style) and Freya. I'm 36F or 38 E or F, depending on make/style.

Debenhams "Gorgeous" range (stupid name) is good value and they seem to last well. The basic t-shirt bras were 2 for £16 last time I bought some and even the pretty ones are in the low £20's.

I bought a bra from Asda once and wore it once. The straps were so thin they really cut into my shoulders, and I ended up stopping in a layby on the way home and wriggling the bastard thing off while still wearing my top. Threw that fucker in the bin as soon as I got home.

Bravissimo are great. I was a 30d before DC now I'm.a 32f. Excellent measuring and great range of styles, including nursing/maternity bras

rollonoctober · 23/10/2019 20:04

Definitely Bravissimo. Although from this thread I'm tempted to try rigby and peller!

PurpleFrames · 23/10/2019 20:06

I found Debenhams great- -after getting fitted went from 36b to 32dd happy days!

DieSchottin93 · 23/10/2019 20:07

I'm a 28E/F which is hard to come by in the shops so mostly by online from places like Lingerie Outlet Store, Brastop, Leia Lingerie and Bravissimo sales.

Cryalot2 · 23/10/2019 20:13

Dd and I both been bravissimo since they first opened.
We buy swimwear there and occasionally clothes.
They are brilliant .

Singinginshower · 23/10/2019 20:22

I was really disappointed with Bravissimo. They were trying to put me in small back sizes and I found them really uncomfortable

CleopatraTomato · 23/10/2019 20:27

Bravissimo! Fabulous. (Am 32/34 ee/f and have been up to 34g/h/j)

Size changes with weight/kids etc

CamdenTownie · 23/10/2019 20:40

Bravissimo sole me bras so tight I felt like they were damaging my rib cage, I had red marks all over and the wires dug in bad.

Im a 36DD and they put me in a 32f!

24hourshomeedderandcarer · 23/10/2019 20:57

im a 46 J/K so i can only buy mine from simply be
no where else stocks my size

midnightmisssuki · 23/10/2019 21:08

VS.

SweetPetrichor · 23/10/2019 21:41

Bravissimo. Could never find anything comfortable because I'm narrow under the boob but well endowed. I went in wearing something like a 34E which was the best I'd managed to do myself, and came out with a perfectly fitting 30H. Their fitting service is better than any others I've had over the years, and it's great to be able to get bras which appreciate that you can be big boobed and small chested!

8mileeminem · 23/10/2019 21:46

Hunkemoller

OhioOhioOhio · 23/10/2019 21:53

Asda

feelinghelplesstoday · 23/10/2019 22:03

Massive (no pun intended) fan of Brastop. Used "boob or bust" to get correct size then ordered from Brastop

aibutohavethisusername · 23/10/2019 22:09

Bravissimo or John Lewis

I tend to wear Fantasie so buy them online too.

Rainbowsomewhere · 23/10/2019 22:10

I doubt they would be suited to a bigger bust (I’m not more than a C). But I love the Rosie bras from M and S. Not too padded but looks great, so comfy you forget you’re wearing them which is what I like!

underground76 · 23/10/2019 22:10

Bravissimo for a fitting but some of the brands they stock, like Freya and Fantasie, are sold in department stores like Debenhams and House of Fraser as well so once you know your size the world’s your oyster.

The band of a bra should fit very snugly on the first set of hooks (you can then move to the next set of hooks as it stretches over time). The support is supposed to come from the band, not the straps. Most women think they are a much bigger back size and a smaller cup size than they really are.

AliceLittle · 23/10/2019 22:16

I've just sent back 12 bras to brastop. They all fit ok but quality was really poor. Didn't feel supported at all and felt like they would fall apart in a wash or two and I didn't want to waste money and find out. They were a mixture of Curvy Kate's and Flirtelles.

I should have stuck to the Panache Cleo range which last well. Just so expensive to fork out everytime my size changes.

PonteLaCorona · 23/10/2019 22:31

I really rate freya bras. I love the moulded cup plunge one.
The wireless deco one? This bra literally gives me back the boobs I had at 24. It's like magic. And no wires!
I love Freya bras, won't wear anything else
