I feel so fed up with buying bras!! I'm a 36E but sort of a teardrop shaped boob. Have bought from Anne summers, M&S before. Other places that I can't remember. Currently have no nice bras that don't dig into me. I'm quite curvy, perhaps I need a bigger back size I don't know!
Please help mumsnetters. Where is a good place to get properly, accurately sized and get decent comfortable pretty bras from?

I go to Rigby & Peller to get measured and buy one bra from them (too expensive otherwise) and then hop over the road to John Lewis and buy the same sized Freya bras from there. Although Freya seem to have changed their hook and eye supplier as they don't last that long anymore. Angry

Cleverplayonwords · 23/10/2019 14:30

Bravissimo

fridgegrazer · 23/10/2019 14:33

Miss Mary of Sweden Blush - fit well and lots of cottony ones, but probably a bit old for you.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/10/2019 14:34

Brastop or if they have a serious sale on, Bravissimo. Figleaves sometimes. Anything else is Debenhams. I'm a 30J.

Brefugee · 23/10/2019 14:36

Rigby & Peller. Although I have got some great ones from M&S lately. (but R&P is the place to be measured, they do it by magic)

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 23/10/2019 14:38

Elomi from Debenhams, I don't like Bravissimo, every bra from there has been so tight I can't breath and downright uncomfortable.

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 23/10/2019 17:52

Rigby and Pellar found a strapless bra that worked for me, something I never thought possible.

nitgel · 23/10/2019 17:54

I get fantasie bras and usually online or john lewis/debenhams sale they are so comfy

beckyvardy · 23/10/2019 18:21

Asda when I am shopping they fit me well.

Primark never fit me properly.

I'm a 38 dd/e

Samsamsuperman · 23/10/2019 18:24

I had a similar problem and got measured at M&S. They told me to go down a back size and up a cup size - sorted. So I was wearing 36b that were killing me, tried on a 34c and was fine. Also they do super soft stretch ones that aren't much to look at but they are soooo nice and comfy.

CoraPirbright · 23/10/2019 18:25

Save up and go to Rigby & Peller. Best thing I ever did.

Grannybags · 23/10/2019 18:30

Another vote for Bravissimo. Got measured there and came out a totally different size. Bought a couple of nice ones in there and some basic ones from Debenhams.

DanceItOut · 23/10/2019 18:32

Brastop and bravissimo i'm a 38F. I did also go and get measured in boux avenue and get a couple there that are so beautiful and comfy.

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 23/10/2019 18:32

I was amazed when I went to bravissimo. She looked at me in the bra I was wearing (34C) then went off to get a selection of what I said I was after. She knew my size right just from looking (34DD).

I tried on a few and then bought 2. Now that I know my size I will try a few on from other shops.

I am much more supported now. I look slimmer and a few people have asked if I’ve lost weight. I had a 40 minute car journey to get to the closest shop to me but it was well worth it. Brilliant service which I can’t recommend highly enough.

insanemumof3 · 23/10/2019 18:36

im a 38DD. pour moi!! best place have never worn a bra so comfortable! so sick of my bras that dig innor dont support properly (after 3 kids they arent as perky as they used to be 😔) bras are good prices and beautiful looking not just basic or boring! good luck!!

Countrybumpkins · 23/10/2019 18:38

Bravissimo. Used to be rigby and pellet but too poor for that now

sohypnotic · 23/10/2019 18:40

I second previous PP's who recommend the boob or bust measuring system. I was struggling with digging in especially with underwired bras, but nothing was comfortable. I kept sizing up the back and was wearing an 40E but still uncomfortable. Boob or bust said try a 38G, which to my utter amazement actually did fit. Eventually found the right shape and style after a bit of trail and error in Bravissimo, having never shopped there before. Now dare I say it, I have two comfortable bras!

Ample Bosom - www.amplebosom.com/

Gwynfluff · 23/10/2019 18:56

M&S are fine for cheap bras in big sizes. But don’t get measured by them. Measure yourself for the band size to avoid the adding 2-4 inches thing! Currently in 34FF

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/10/2019 18:56

An independent shop in my local high street who stock all the main branded bras, (mastectomy and maternity too).

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/10/2019 18:56

They also do swimwear.

666onmyhead · 23/10/2019 19:03

I swear by these

Especially as you can clip the back together if you suddenly feel the need for run ( playing with kids/dogs etc)

Toddlerteaplease · 23/10/2019 19:16

Bravissimo, they are the only ones that fit me.

Sciurus83 · 23/10/2019 19:17

Get ye to Bravissimo!

sleepylittlebunnies · 23/10/2019 19:22

George at Asda have brilliant bras. My weight fluctuates so I measure myself to get a rough idea of size. Then I take a selection into the changing room and try on under a tight fitting top. Our Asda doesn’t stock loads so once I know which size fits best I buy them then take a look online for a bigger selection.
