Haha! As if anyone could truly upstage a bride.

I thought the first dress was lovely, and OP I am very jealous of you for being able to pull off such a dress :D I'm sure you'll look stunning in either, hope it's a great party!

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 22/10/2019 13:10

I think the first dress is fine if you like it, as for someone saying it's "slutty" - seriously? Thought we'd moved on from that shit. @Rightyoh wear what you're comfortable in, no need to conform for anyone

Idontwanttotalk · 22/10/2019 13:11

"are you the entertainment?"
😂

Seriously though, it is a nice outfit if you have the figure for it, but I wouldn't wear it to someone's wedding reception. I wouldn't wear anything too showy just so that the bride is the one who stands out from the crowd.

Crafting1Queen · 22/10/2019 13:14

Hi Op, I was going to say unless you are Morticia Adams, please do not wear that black lacy dress to the wedding reception Wink Grin to take the sting out of my initial reaction, Good God in Govan, No! lol.

I love the 2nd dress, and even though you say it's not your style and you have to conform, I think with your update that you that you have tattoos and very short hair etc, I think you will really rock that dress, and it no doubt will show off more of your tattoos. So I think it will take it from a "conforming" dress in your opinion, to an oh wow, she looks amazing in that dress. I especially love the colour!

Have a blast at the reception.

Idontwanttotalk · 22/10/2019 13:17

"I'm 38(really don’t look it) size 10, tattoos, very short Hair. This 2nd dress isn’t really my style, but I must conform 🙄"
The 2nd dress is fine but if it's not really your thing then find another. You want to feel you look good otherwise you might feel uncomfortable and I'm in the mood for looking at more dresses.

Where are your tattoos? If on show can you buy a dress that compliments them?

user1471449295 · 22/10/2019 13:20

Second one is perfect. First looks like you are trying to compete for attention

Pinkyyy · 22/10/2019 13:20

You don't have to conform, I think dress 2 is boring.

myrtleWilson · 22/10/2019 13:26

Do you know the colour scheme? There is a chance with an autumn wedding that dress 2 colour could be quite bridesmaid-y.... plus if its not 'you' then keep looking

Made me spit my tea out there.

Oh, no one ever upstages the bride. They just provide a source of interest to the guests who are identifying who is 'that' guest wearing something inappropriate at the wedding.

underground76 · 22/10/2019 13:33

Am I the only person who wouldn't be remotely bothered what anyone wore to my wedding? If I was having a big wedding do I'd just want people to wear whatever they felt best in.

wait until your Mother In Law turns up in a full wedding gown with veil Grin

1forAll74 · 22/10/2019 13:43

I love the dress, anything black, and glam is always good in my opinion.
If you think that the evening venue would be suitable to wear a glam dress, then wear it.It doesn't matter what others will think.

Rightyoh · 22/10/2019 13:45

I think it’s a bit boring the 2nd one. Can’t find anything else I like online. Can’t really get to the shops this week either as the kids are off ill.
I’ll keep looking and get back to you...

Go with the second one.

Rightyoh · 22/10/2019 13:52

for sure
but dress 1 doesn't qualify as a glam dress

ThatMuppetShow · 22/10/2019 13:53

Dress 3 is suitable.

diddl · 22/10/2019 13:54

I think I prefer the 1st to the 3rd.

Idontwanttotalk · 22/10/2019 13:55

Dress 3 is fine. I can imagine it with short hair.

Alsohuman · 22/10/2019 13:56

Over the top, OP. I’d put money on you feeling very uncomfortable in that.

drumandthebass · 22/10/2019 13:58

👍 to the second dress

Magnificentme · 22/10/2019 13:58

I like it and yes if I had that figure I would wear it to the reception if it's in fashion you might see a few girls wearing similar

DontLettuceBrexitLettuceRomain · 22/10/2019 14:02

Dress 3 you could get away with, but not sure why you're determined to dress like a teenager or model.

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2019 14:04

you might see a few girls wearing similar

I'd be willing to bet money you won't...😂
