I had my daith pierced 2 weeks ago and it healed like a charm until the last day or so where I think I’ve notice bumps.

It’s red but hasn’t been painful, hot or oozing anything at all. Getting really worried and will go back to my piercer but can’t until Tuesday and I’m worried about it getting much worse.

First pic at a few days old and the second is it now (just been in shower so skin is pink but my ear is red)

@MrOnionsBumperRoller

I haven’t been touching it with unwashed hands as far as I’m aware, I’m a vet student and hand washing is drilled into me so I like to think I’m pretty good in that respect.

I have been sleeping on it which could irritate it and whenever I cleaned with a cotton bud it did cause it to rotate, which was obviously irritating it. My piercer suggested to only dab the cotton bud on which I’ll try to do. I think part of the issue is that I really can’t see the bloody thing, no matter how I turn my head or where I place a mirror so a lot of the cleaning is a bit ‘blind’.

I’ve been enlisting my boyfriend and housemates to help when they’re around but I can’t always expect people to help me clean it. Hence, why I thought the soak was a good idea.

On a positive note, I haven’t taken my headache medication for 4 consecutive days. This is massive for me after taking it daily since December 2017! It might just be a placebo but I really don’t care as it’s made a difference.

Currently looks like this (I am warm though, so isn’t as red as it first appears) - I still think there’s a bump on it but I think I’ll give it time to heal before fiddling with it at all.

My piercer didn’t suggest changing the heart to a bar but I’m wondering whether I should ask them about that.

I had a nasty infection when I had my tragus pierced - it appeared after about 6 weeks, so I assumed all the major healing was 'done'. Salt water twice a day and keeping the area generally clean cleared it up I'm a few days.

i think you need to swap that heart out for a bar or just a ring. it looks pretty angry, and the pointy end of the heart (i know it’s not actually that pointy but you know what i mean) will be pulling on the piercing every time it moves even slightly.
