To ask if you have theatre tickets for a London theatre tomorrow night

Are you still intending to go?

There is People's march tomorrow during the day and the vote is obviously due tomorrow. Our theatre is on The Strand so close to the 'action' and any potential trouble. We will have DS12 with us.

DH and I have differing opinions (don't want to prejudice the vote by saying which is mine).

What are/would you do please?

Yes would still go

BramblyHedge · 18/10/2019 19:07

You'll be fine. The Strand is the opposite direction from the route. Last time it was calming down by 5pm.

wineoclockthanks · 18/10/2019 19:07

The feeling is that whichever way the vote goes, some people are going to be very pissed off.

I'd certainly go.

I've been round central London a lot during the various protests in recent months, and it's calm - if noisy- and you can get through on foot or by tube.

As long as you're not relying on busses, you'll be fine.

scittlescatter · 18/10/2019 19:13

I would go. I live in London and it's just part of life, nothing to worry about.

MojoMoon · 18/10/2019 19:16

The last people's march vote was extremely well behaved and hospitable.

However it will be a lot of people

Avoid Embankment and Charing cross stations, probably Temple as well. Would suggest wearing comfy shoes and going to chancery lane station and walking 15 mins through the back streets to avoid having to queue or get caught up in crowds heading home.

MojoMoon · 18/10/2019 19:17

And yes don't take the bus or drive or take a taxi! Foot and tube travel only.

Arnoldthecat · 18/10/2019 19:21

Just go,,but dont go to the bar unless you want to be bankrupt Grin

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 18/10/2019 19:23

I'd go. You're far enough away, really.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 18/10/2019 19:26

I would go, what tickets do you have?

NoHummus · 18/10/2019 19:26

I would still go. Just plan your travel carefully as suggested above. You've presumably paid a lot for the tickets so don't miss out!

Reallybadidea · 18/10/2019 19:28

Goodness, it wouldn't even cross my mind not to go.

SkaterGrrrrl · 18/10/2019 19:29

I would go.

AnneElliott · 18/10/2019 19:29

Yes I would still go. I work in London so I've dealt with the protestors for the past 2 weeks!

Just be prepared to walk from the tube station in case the buses are not running.

ToPlanZ · 18/10/2019 19:34

Yes I'm going to the theatre in London tomorrow, I'm not wasting my train tickets there and back!

I was there when the Football Lads Association were marching and didn't have an issue in London at all. It was only on the train on the way back that there was a problem. They were so badly behaved a police escort sat with them the whole journey, but that was far more down to their intoxication than their political leanings.

GabsAlot · 18/10/2019 19:36

I would but maybe walk from covent garden station if its evening prob wont be anywhere near there by then

RainyParis · 18/10/2019 19:39

Of course! If you're coming into Waterloo just walk from there and you'll bypass the march route. Leave in good time but I'd have no other concerns. (I live in London btw)

ChanklyBore · 18/10/2019 19:40

I would go, and be quite excited to be there on a historic day.

Amys136 · 18/10/2019 19:41

I’d go and follow any relevant transport accounts on Twitter so you can keep up to date with what’s running etc

ChestnutTalisman · 18/10/2019 19:42

I would still go

Loveislandaddict · 18/10/2019 19:42

I would go, partly because theatre tickets are sooo expensive.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 18/10/2019 19:42

You won't get any trouble from the People's Vote march. There will inevitably be problems with the counter protesters but they're so gormless that they'll just fight each other.

Have a lovely time.

Cuddlysnowleopard · 18/10/2019 19:43

I'd go. Wouldn't cross my mind not to.
