Too early for a pint?

So I'm going on holiday and I'm going to London first where I'm meeting a friend for lunch. I was going to go to a pub for a fry up first and I'm in the mood for a pint. Just wondering would 10am be weirdly freakishly early to have a pint with my brekkie? Confused If you saw a relatively normal looking 30 something woman sitting in a pub at 10am chowing down on vegan sausages and swilling back some IPA would you be judging?

My rule is
“It’s 12 o’clock somewhere !”
Thanks Jimmy Buffett...
I always have a drink at the airport before a holiday and that’s been as early as about 7am so enjoy! 🍻

Oh no! actually now I come to think of it ,when I used to work in a pub it was usually 10 or 11 pm we were allowed to start serving alcohol

FizzyIce · 18/10/2019 09:33

*Am!!

inwood · 18/10/2019 09:33

Blimey where are you? Most of the pubs I know in London serve alcohol with breakfast, especially near the big hospitals / sorting offices / Smithfields etc.

spanglydangly · 18/10/2019 09:36

It's gone midday somewhere in the world, so it's just fine! Enjoy! 🍺

Yes.

RandomWok · 18/10/2019 09:39

I am outraged on your behalf! You are in holiday mode who are they to tell you no! Grin

‘Small beer’ was so weak it was often about 0.5% alcohol, though — it was only drink because the sanitation was so bad it was safer than water. And could be unfiltered and look like porridge, like bits of wheat or bread in it.

Interestedwoman · 18/10/2019 09:49

YANBU- count it as you're already on holiday and can do whatever :)

Thetruth02 · 18/10/2019 10:04

Not really controlling - more sticking to the terms of their licence I’d say. Enjoy your holiday.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 18/10/2019 10:13

No I would not Judge .

Enjoy your breakfast, pint and holiday.

I do, but only on holiday.

Stopped in Tewkesbury once while on a narrowboat holiday. We'd had to set off early to meet up with friends who were staying in the area, so hadn't had time for breakfast and were ravenous.

We made really good time, and walked up the high street just as they opened the doors. My mate stuck his head in and asked if they were doing food yet, and the landlady apologetically replied "Only breakfast, I'm afraid".

"We'll have 5 breakfasts and 5 pints of Pedigree then, please" replied my friend.

Best bloody breakfast I've ever had, although 3 pints before midday was perhaps a little uncalled for.

gwackywacky · 18/10/2019 10:29

@LakieLady That sounds fantastic! Grin

Is it me or is that so controlling???

Sticking to the conditions of their license agreement isn’t controlling, it’s stopping them from getting closed down.

confusedandemployed · 18/10/2019 14:57

Go for it, it's hardly a daily event.
I'll be having a pint for brekkie at 8.15am on Sunday, watching Wales in the rugby world cup.
As it happens every 4 years, I'm making the most of it...
