Too early for a pint?

So I'm going on holiday and I'm going to London first where I'm meeting a friend for lunch. I was going to go to a pub for a fry up first and I'm in the mood for a pint. Just wondering would 10am be weirdly freakishly early to have a pint with my brekkie? Confused If you saw a relatively normal looking 30 something woman sitting in a pub at 10am chowing down on vegan sausages and swilling back some IPA would you be judging?

Not at all, your on holiday. Relax and have fun.

I can't wait to be at the airport at 6:00 am on December before I go on our Xmas holiday.... Drinking a mulled wine or beer!

StCharlotte · 18/10/2019 08:05

Channel your inner continental European - lots of hotels serve champagne with breakfast.

Enjoy your break(fast)!

unknownn · 18/10/2019 08:06

yeah i'm an airport 3am pint drinker. you're on bloody holiday. drink away woman.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/10/2019 08:07

I'd have a vodka and orange with it or a brandy coffee

crustycrab · 18/10/2019 08:09

Smashed fairly hard avocado or not I'm simply amazed at your busy and controversial week.

In the last 5 days, Dorito debacle, bridesmaid dress "awww"ness, pints for breakfast, abusive men with women sticking up for them and being stared out while you do your make up? Bit much

heartsonacake · 18/10/2019 08:17

Yes, I would judge.

Gretafamily · 18/10/2019 08:19

Nope wouldn't judge at all. Years ago I drank at 10am at the airport but that was to try and get over flying nerves SadSad

Lowlandlucky · 18/10/2019 08:31

I was in a dumphotel in Redcar many years ago, went down to breakfast at 7 and a bloke was eating his Breakfast and had a pint sat beside him, he then drank another 2 before i had finished my first cuppa.

Bluntness100 · 18/10/2019 08:36

For some reason the normal rules don't apply when on holiday ...

Does it really matter what others think?

getoutofthatgarden202 · 18/10/2019 08:41

It's fine -when i go to music festivals my husband always makes us espresso martini's with brekkie and then we have a bloody mary after just before we head in hahaha

Your on holiday - enjoy yerself

Ihateedmundelephant · 18/10/2019 08:46

If you’re going on holiday then you HAVE to have an inappropriately early morning pint - it’s the rules of holidays! I’ve been known to enjoy a gin and tonic at 8am before a flight Grin

gwackywacky · 18/10/2019 08:47

Ok I will not feel self conscious drinking away then! My mum does have several glasses of wine if shes at the airport even very early but in all fairness she is genuinely shit scared of flying.

Early on a normal day, never too early on the following days:

  • Holidays
  • Christmas
  • Birthdays
  • Football days
Biker47 · 18/10/2019 08:51

Time doesn't exist in an airport.

gwackywacky · 18/10/2019 08:52

In all fairness didnt people in the olden days have pints of ale and beer ("small beer", whatever the hell that is) before going to work in the factories and fields?
Maybe it's time to bring that tradition back Grin

By the way airports there would be no question in my mind but this is a normal pub

LemonTT · 18/10/2019 08:56

Oh there are pubs in London who have always served pints with breakfast to shift workers. Usually around the markets and hospitals.

I think we did it in Dublin where it was offered as part of the full Irish

TooLittleTooLate80 · 18/10/2019 08:56

YANBU - As the country song goes...

"It's 5 o'clock somewhere!"

GREATAUNT1 · 18/10/2019 09:07

Have a 🍺 It’s all part of holiday prep. No matter what the time of day or night I drink pre & whilst in holz. When everyone else sips a tea or coffee on the plane I order alcohol, it sets a trend. The only time so drink is on holiday, & I take plenty of water with it 💃🏽

user1493413286 · 18/10/2019 09:12

Something about a holiday always makes me think the normal rules I have for myself about drinking go out the window (same on Christmas Day) so I say go for it. It’s not unusual to see people with a drink in the airport at that time and who cares what people think

SlothMama · 18/10/2019 09:22

I wouldn't but go for it plenty of people drink in airports at silly o'clock!

BlastEndedSkrewt · 18/10/2019 09:23

never too early for a pint as long as your not driving.

Personally i'd have to have a coffee first though

Penners99 · 18/10/2019 09:25

Beer, no. Wine, maybe. Gin, YES!

bluebeck · 18/10/2019 09:25

Isn't it the law that you start any holiday experience with an alcoholic drink, regardless of the time of day or night?

Have a good time OP!

gwackywacky · 18/10/2019 09:31

I am so bitterly disappointed. She asked what drink I wanted and I said a pint of razor back and she said "I'm sorry we dont serve alcohol until...." I didnt even hear what time she said. Hmm Is it me or is that so controlling???
