Chatting to someone on a dating app which has full names. Was able to see he is a primary school teacher.

We were chatting about very light hearted stuff and I asked him a silly “would you rather” question - eg would you rather look like x animal or y animal.

He turned it around and asked if he could ask something weird. I said ok.

His question:
If no one would ever know, would you rather have sex with a 14 year old boy or an old woman?

I have blocked him. I do have his name and his details and I’m tempted to escalate this... I have screen shots.

I think it is a joke in poor taste rather than any sort of indicator that he would actually LIKE to engage in sexual activities with either of those people.

As someone already said, that game is intended to shock and you instigated the game. It's like truth or dare; nobody asks you tame stuff in truth or dare do they? "Oh truth or dare, do you like satsumas"? No. It's always something a bit grim. Thankfully most people don't play these games when they hit adulthood.

Tvstar · 12/10/2019 16:52

Who are you going to report it to that would give a flying flamingo? As Mr speaker woukd say

Butchyrestingface · 12/10/2019 16:56

I imagine if she reported it he’s spin it so that he was actually testing her by asking the question, ie, if she’d answered 14 yo over 90 yo, he’d have dumped her.

Horseshit, of course.

WelcomeToShootingStars · 12/10/2019 17:25

Jesus wept.

It's just a joke. As in, it's an impossible decision. It's no different to asking things like would you rather have fingers for toes or toes for fingers.

I think people have become shockingly oversensitive. It's alright not to like his sense of humour but talk of reporting to his boss and crimestoppers is fucking insane.

DontFundHate · 12/10/2019 18:06

Having thought about it since you posted first, no I wouldn't report

DrDetriment · 12/10/2019 19:01

Report what to whom? It's a poor joke and bad taste but those things aren't a crime. He obviously isn't your cup of tea so stop the witch hunt and concentrate on your own life rather than that of someone you have never met.

Amanduh · 12/10/2019 19:22

Report him 😂😂😂 to who? The joke police?

Amanduh · 12/10/2019 19:24

And yes to a pp who said cards of humanity.. played the other day with a group of teachers, better get reporting because some of those trump this one by miles 😂

Biggie123 · 12/10/2019 19:29

I’m confused - when everyone is saying report it, report it to whom?

The dating app?

I assume no one means the police

thebakerwithboobs · 12/10/2019 19:30

And yes to a pp who said cards of humanity.. played the other day with a group of teachers, better get reporting because some of those trump this one by miles

I take the point but there is a huge difference between playing a game with people you know well and trust and asking that question of someone that you haven't even met.

RingPiece · 12/10/2019 19:43

I think he thought that, maybe as you'd been getting on well, you would get that it's a cards of humanity-type question/ game. He set out to shock; it went too far for you.

ChristmasFluff · 12/10/2019 20:16

You would all have a point. EXCEPT - he is a primary school teacher. As such, he is bound to avoid behaviour which brings his profession into disrepute, - yes, even in his own time.

A game of CAH with your mates is totally different to asking weird questions of strangers.

Report him. Not sure if teachers have a governing body, but his head would know. Let them decide.

ChibiTotoro · 12/10/2019 20:35

At best it's a crap joke that oversteps the mark, but a teacher making 'jokes' about someone having sex with a minor is inappropriate and could be an indicator of something more sinister.
I would imagine if you reported the facts to the school directly they would be duty bound to investigate it. If you report it to Crimestoppers it will get treated as intelligence, researched in an attempt to corroborate or refute and acted on or not as necessary. As a PP said let them decide.

MitziK · 13/10/2019 10:51

Ugh. It's a poor taste 'game', usually employed by males in their twenties who want to shock you. Had one ask it backstage at a gig once - actually, his was worse, as a baby was his example.

He seemed most crestfallen when the guys in the band (most Dads) turned their backs on him. So he asked me. Don't ever ask an ageing sound tech (who has also worked with teenagers for a very long time) stupid fucking questions - we get enough of them as it is - and you have the freedom to say what you like when it's not directly work related. A deadpan 'Why don't you just fuck off and be a cunt somewhere else?' wasn't the reply he expected.

He fucked off. So no, I wouldn't say it's a safeguarding issue, it's just a fucking idiotic thing that some men (and probably some idiotic young women) do to try and come across as 'edgy' and 'exciting'. Like a five year old saying 'You're a poo bum willyhead'.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 16/10/2019 16:46

Context is everything....

Playing cah with pals is completely different to saying pretty extreme things to strangers.... He may be just doing a poor taste 'joke'... BUT he may be dodgy and testing out your reactions /interest.... I've seen something similar done online where the bloke was VERY dodgy (he got sent down for raping a 10 year old eventually).

Report to head of school, and also to safeguarding lead at your local council.
Let them decide.

At the very least he needs to be spoken to about idiotic communications and the consequence of this... which could be see to bring profession into disrepute.

Sadly for the members of these professions... You NUST be seen to have the highest integrity and behaviour.
