Might sound a daft question but it's not to me....

Need a new one and thinking of getting a cordless but wondered if that is enough on its own without a main plug in vac. 3 kids, no pets. Dh is a builder though and I hoover the hallway and living room daily because of the amount of dust and mud and general crap he brings in Hmm

Eldest ds has a dust allergy so it is important I hoover his room regularly as well as the rest of the house....I'd use it daily so just imaging how much easier and quicker it is to be in the world of cordless....

Any recommendations? Or shall I stick to a normal plug in vaccum seen as it will get used quite often....

We have a cordless dyson to use in the kitchen to get bits off the floor after meals but I am now sure how good it would be for carpet.

My mum hated carrying hoovers up and down stairs so we had two!

I have a cordless but also have a "normal" hoover too. The cordless isn't enough for me - it's Ok for a quick whip round on my tiled and wooden floors but useless on the carpets.
