To think I will never wear jeans again?

OK, this is a badly disguised advice thread, but there's an element of desperation here so I hope you'll forgive me.

I have not been able to find a pair of jeans that fit me for almost ten years. That is no exaggeration. I've been to lots of specialised shops and feel like I have tried all the usual suspects. Today was another disaster as I tried on almost 30 pairs at Debenhams - all, according to the sales assistant, super stretchy and perfect for my shape - only to again walk out with none.

My problem: I have a hollow back, a high waist, but also a permanent I-am-four-months-pregnant belly. The often-praised Levi bold curve, for example, did not work for me because the button digs into my poor belly fat like it wants carve a path to my ovaries. And that is what usually happens: jeans gape at the back or slide halfway down my bum when I sit down, but are still super tight and uncomfortable in the front because of my extra chub there.

I'm so tired of having to wear dresses every day, and I do have very nice and long legs that would look good in jeans. Grin I am hoping for the perfect idea, or maybe some partners in misfortune.

Next 365 - I think they are jeggings really, but look like jeans and fit well. Only jeans I've ever had that I don't need to wear a belt with to keep them up. I always wear a long top over them though.

I promised I'd report back, so here it is.

I had no luck at Next: I found the hypercurve is very similar to the Levi bold curve, and very uncomfortable with my chubby belly. Better for pear shapes with a hollow back but fairly slim / normal waist. I tried some others, but they were worse. Next jeggings seemed a little too low and would not stay up properly.

High-waisted jeans in general are just no luck for me. Maybe I don't have a high waist at all but rather no waist and a slim empire line (bra size is 32E).

But: I went to John Lewis next, tried NYDJ and hurrah! All of you who recommended them: you were right! Thank you! There was a sale on, so I treated myself to a pair and I am now typing this message comfy in my new fancy jeans.

AngeloMysterioso · 16/10/2019 17:22

Try H&M shaping skinny jeans

Didntwanttochangemyname · 16/10/2019 19:11

How about trousers with a belt?

I can't believe it's taken 3 pages for someone to suggest a belt! I can't wear jeans without one!

Divebar · 16/10/2019 19:33

Errrrr well how about getting them altered so they fit properly

BusterGonad · 24/10/2019 10:26

Belts completely ruin the look of an outfit as you get a big lump under tops where the belt is, who wants that? I certainly don't!

BusterGonad · 24/10/2019 10:27

Buckle!

I know this is an older thread but I was searching for posts about the NYD jeans!

OP, @LailaDay are you still pleased with them and what size did you you get??

Do they avoid the skinny jean bagginess that so many pairs seem to suffer from?

I’m a 12 in jeans but only like them with a high stretch content as my legs are skinnier than my sizeable arse and I like them to fit tightly around the knee!

ItNeedsMoreGlitter · 28/12/2019 15:49

From the sound of it I am a similar shape. Have recently discovered Next Hypercurve jeans. They are higher waisted and have a decent amount of stretch. The button is above my belly chub so doesn’t pinch and gape and the back waistband hugs nicely. Bonus ... they don’t slide down as I move as they waistband is well above my hips. Life changer when I found them

fedup21 · 28/12/2019 16:07

I don’t really like high waisted though-I’m short in the body and they look really daft. Most pairs seem to be high waisted at the moment??

ProfessionalBoss · 29/12/2019 08:34

I have never found jeans that are more comfortable than Asda skinny stretch jeans!

Happyspud · 29/12/2019 08:43

Absolutely every pair of Pepe jeans I buy fits amazingly. Maybe try a pair? I felt the same as you until I found them.

mistyy · 29/12/2019 08:48

Walmart has jeans that are for pregnant women nice and fired where it needs to be and loose and no buttons or zipper also comes in plus size or you can wear loos tops/dresses that are short theigh length and then wear some tights and boots cute outfit

Tumbleweed101 · 29/12/2019 08:50

Bon Marche jeans are comfy and fit well on the waist.
