Transverse baby. ECV tomorrow

Sorry for hijacking AIBU.
39 weeks. Midwife today said baby is transverse (explains why I'm so uncomfortable). Has anyone had an ECV for transverse that worked or not? Midwife says they'll probably break waters at same time but leaflet she gave me says ECV only works in 50%of cases so C section 50% likely?
If they break waters will it be quick to labour or will I go home?

DS2 was transverse. I had a CS booked and instructions to call an ambulance if my waters broke. Waters broke at 37.5 weeks. They tried a turn which failed, so went to emergency CS. I had no idea the turn carried any potential risks. It was all fine, he was delivered via the sunroof, I just had to spend an extra day in hospital to make sure breastfeeding was established. There were no adverse consequences from the attempted turn but I may have well have gone straight for the section.

Good luck for today. Just ask lots of questions and go with whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

You're the mum and the patient so you get the final decision.

OP here are the NICE guidelines for doctors on transverse lie presentation. Please note that they are different from breech presentation:

How did today go OP?

Howdidido · 10/10/2019 17:28

She'd turned herself! Grin
So back home and waiting for normal labour to start

Thanks for everyone's comments.
Midwives and Dr explained everything very well. Which was a bit of a waste of their time in the end! I felt confident making a decision- which would have been based on been high or low baby was presenting.
