Purportedly on £44,000.

Took home £1992.

That’s not right is it?

Have they got your tax code right?

JustATrickle · 02/10/2019 18:01

Was it your first paycheck?

Emergency tax?

DollyPomPoms · 02/10/2019 18:02

Should be about £2750 give or take.

WeNeedABudget · 02/10/2019 18:02

Student loan? Pension payment?

Does look a bit short.

Tilltheendoftheline · 02/10/2019 18:02

No. I earn a bit less and took home more this month.

Wheres it all gone? Tax? Is your tax code right? Did you work a full pay period?

I imagine there will be tax, NI and pension taken off. But that seems very low.

skintandtired · 02/10/2019 18:03

Not quite first pay check but —was forced to— have accepted a drop in salary Grin

I’ve never been on anything like 2750 due to pension contributions I assume but under 2k seems really low.

Part month?

Tilltheendoftheline · 02/10/2019 18:03

Do you have a company car?

Whiskeywithwater · 02/10/2019 18:03

Seems low. UK tax calculator app says should be about £2.7k. Any other deductions coming out - Pension contributions, season ticket loans, childcare vouchers etc?

glitterlamp · 02/10/2019 18:04

Company car? Although I'd imagine it's too low even if you do. Should definitely be more unless you pay a lot to pensions

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 02/10/2019 18:05

What do you mean you assume? It should all be listed on your pay slip as separate line items!

RainbowMum11 · 02/10/2019 18:05

Is the gross correct? What % pension contributions? What's your tax code?

skintandtired · 02/10/2019 18:05

Just pension. Christ if they are taking £800 a month off me, I expect to retire in style.

skintandtired · 02/10/2019 18:05

Haven’t got a payslip. Don’t start Hmm

OP posts:
Tilltheendoftheline · 02/10/2019 18:05

I would imagine about £2,600 after your pension

You need to see your pay slip.

Tilltheendoftheline · 02/10/2019 18:06

How long have you worked for them?

What do you mean no payslip?

TheresAFuckOverThere · 02/10/2019 18:07

Why dont you have a payslip?

howells · 02/10/2019 18:07

Yes, I reckon it should be around £2,700 if your tax code is 1250L and there are no deductions for pension, student loans etc.

Even with emergency tax code BR that seems low.

Did you work the full month?

MissMarks · 02/10/2019 18:07

No- far too low! 49k salary with 5% pension is about 3100

Fatted · 02/10/2019 18:07

You need a payslip!

howells · 02/10/2019 18:09

Your employer has to provide a payslip - it's a requirement except in a few instances. See www.gov.uk/payslips

TheMustressMhor · 02/10/2019 18:19

Why did you say "don't start" when you mentioned that you didn't have a payslip?

Were you expecting people to understand why you haven't got one?

NotStayingIn · 02/10/2019 18:25

It does sound like it’s too little unless you chose to make higher pension contributions.

Not getting a payslip would ring alarm bells for me. If they are too unprofessional to issue them I wouldn’t trust them to work out the pay properly either. I think you should definitely query it.

Likethebattle · 02/10/2019 18:28

My DH earned just over £30k (he just changed jobs this month) with his pension and private medical insurance taken and normal deductions he was taking home over £2k

Nyon · 02/10/2019 18:30

I’m on 43k and my take home was just under £2200 this month - student loan and higher rate teachers pension. Yours is way too low.
