Put 2 plastic bags over your hand, pick it up, wrap it and bin it

AnathemaPulsifer · 01/10/2019 17:57

Pick it up using a plastic bag and put it in your dustbin

Gabrielknight · 01/10/2019 17:57

As above....

BillywilliamV · 01/10/2019 17:57

Er, plastic bag, over pigeon, then inside out and into bin...

Or were you very close in which case my condolencesSad

TheRobinIsBobbingAlong · 01/10/2019 17:58

Get a carrier bag or bin bag, put it over your hand, pick the bird up, wrap it well and put it in the wheelie bin. Done.

Chasingsquirrels · 01/10/2019 17:58

I put dead birds in our green bin (says cooked or uncooked meat & bones).

MelonSlice · 01/10/2019 17:58

Give it CPR

TheRobinIsBobbingAlong · 01/10/2019 17:59

Alternatively there are some good pigeon pie recipies that you can Google Grin

KidRock · 01/10/2019 18:00

A cat will probably be overjoyed to find an easy gift for their owners if you leave it a while.

RoLaren · 01/10/2019 18:00

Not, not Speckled Jim?! Shock

Betsy86 · 01/10/2019 18:01

@BillywilliamV 😂😂😂
But yes as above bag and bin it Envy not envy!

Rachelover60 · 01/10/2019 18:01

Take a photo and put it on ebay (some weird shop on ebay, I should know.....).

BlackeyedGruesome · 01/10/2019 18:02

Leave it. It will be gone by morning. Pigeon flew into my window and died. Was wondering whether to get dressed and do something. Within minutes the magpies had started on it. Gone in no time.

sheshootssheimplores · 01/10/2019 18:02

I’d probably chuck it in the green bin. But someone will tell me that’s wrong.

DeepDarkWoods · 01/10/2019 18:02

Or bury it?

KidRock · 01/10/2019 18:02

TheRobin I dont think there is much meat on it tbh!Grin

Musicalstatues · 01/10/2019 18:03

We had that when one flew into our window. Left it there (dh choice rather than move it) and it was gone by morning, presumably a fox or something took it.

Maryann1975 · 01/10/2019 18:04

Get a carrier bag and a shovel. Open the bag and then use the shovel to pick it up and put it in the bag. Pick up bag, tie handles and put in bin. Alternatively, knock on next door and hope they have a kind soul and don’t mind helping you out. (I’m lucky, dh doesn’t mind doing stuff like this and nor does the man next door. I can cope with small birds/mice but we’ve had a dead rabbit and a dead magpie in the garden before now and I had to call reinforcements to deal with them.

catsmother · 01/10/2019 18:06

At least it's not on your landing, in your kitchen, in your hall and/or shredded into a thousand feathers, decapitated, half eaten etc!! The perils of having cats that hunt and living next to a field. I usually just pick up the pieces with kitchen roll, then pop into a carrier.

Do check its legs for a ring though just in case it's a racing pigeon. They have unique numbers and the owners are usually grateful to know what's happened rather than be left wondering.

floravus · 01/10/2019 18:08

This is like a daily occurrence for us - usually pigeons or rabbits. I normally just grab them by their feet and Chuck them in the field behind the house for the foxes/whatever to have Confused

KidRock · 01/10/2019 18:09

Ugh the 16 Ds thinks we should bury it ffs

OP posts:
incognito76 · 01/10/2019 18:10

I’d just pick it up, wrap it in a bit of newspaper and bin it. Or just chuck it in some bushes for foxes.

KidRock · 01/10/2019 18:10

Chasing squirrels thats idea but the green food caddys are full as the binmen come tomorrow
